Two nights ago we watched an episode of “Flash Gordan”. It was an old TV show and the special effects were rather “primative”. So I did a little mock up movie of it, though it wasn’t really a spoof. I’ll post the script here, though I did it a little bit differently than the script. So now you shall know just how horribly I write scripts.

Narration over stars: It is the year seventeen double O six . Mysterious Pink Thing is currently zooming through the system of Zifdon

Scene One
Shot inside the cockpit,

C Eliz: High, I’m Captain Elizabeth of the Mysterious Pink Thing. Though there is nothing at all Mysterious about it, and though there is not enough Pink about it, Mysterious Pink Thing is its name.
This is Lieutenant Sheddin,(motions to Allison Sheddin), my right hand man, I mean woman, I mean, uh, Thing.
Together we help save the world from destruction!

(Over radio) Comander: Captain Elizabeth, Are you there?
C Eliz(into radio): If I wasn’t here where else would I be?
Com: We have serious trouble.
C Eliz: What else would you be having, pepperoni pizza? Which reminds me,(turns to AS) we haven’t had pizza in a while, let’s order some when we get back.
Com: TO CONTINUE, there is a bomb which is about to explode and make a new black hole in twelve minutes and forty three seconds, or forty two now.
C Eliz: And soon it will be forty one, but what do you want me to do about it?
Com: The bomb is located in a planet system near you, you’ll just have to fly through an asteroid field, get through the Glob section and destroy a small satellite orbiting the planet of Zyfgon. The satellite has the controls for the setting of the bomb and with it destroyed we shall be safe! If not the black hole will swiftly destroy all of the world as we now know it.
C Eliz: Well, with your talking you’ve already taken up a lot of my time and I better get started. Please send the coordinates to the nava computer and I’ll head there strait away.
Com: Thank you for taking care of the situation, I’ll send you the coordinates. .

C Eliz: Got them, I’m preparing for heading to these coordinates, hang tight while I punch in the information to the controls(plays Twinkle Twinkle Little Star). It’s odd that this machine was built with such a musical control system. But who am I to complain? It’s just an annoyance…

C Eliz: Anyway we’ll be at the asteroid field in less than a minute, I’ll have to manually fly through it. I’ll switch the controls to asteroid repulsion, (has the key board star playing 02 on the classical side of the piano). (Moves around wildly) Oh no, I think we hit an asteroid, I’ll have to increase power,(turns the tempo up), that should do it.

No one speaks for a moment as the music continues to play, occasionally crashing noises are heard and C Eliz moves around wildly.

C Eliz: Phew, we’re out of that now. We can relax, Oh no, we can’t! We have the Glob section yet to past through! The deadly Globs will turn our space ship into goo unless I do something! I’ll turn on the Glob repeller, and I’ll turn it way up(plays Canon at top speed). There, now with good luck we won’t be turned into goo.

Waits a moment while anxiously examine the screen,
C Eliz: Good, we’re past the Glob section. (turns off music).

C Eliz: Oh dear, We’re going to need some extra speed to make it in time, I’ll turn on the speed booster,(Number 21 top speed). Why on earth couldn’t the commander have told me about this earlier, or gotten somebody with a faster ship or some one closer to do this?

Oh no, We’re just barely going to make it, only two minutes left. Yikes! enemy ships on the screen, they’ve got us in their tractor beam! You’d think by now they’d have invented something more advanced. We’re being pulled in! I’ll have to turn on the tractor beam negitator. (entertainer top speed), I just hope this works. It’s working! It’s working! We’re almost out of their grip, which is a good thing because I can’t take this song much longer. We’re out!(switches back to Number 21). Now if I can just get to that satellite and destroy it!

(looks down at screen) OH no! Just thirty seconds left! I’ll have to use a faster speed booster! But if I use it will cut the power to everything else. Oh well, I can see using this(pulls out light sword). (Starts punching in numbers Plays number 47 classic). (lights go off) (Capt Eliz turns on pink thing)

C Eliz: There, now I can see, Oh no, just fifteen seconds, . Good, we’re there. I’ll stop so I have power.(stops music) Now to begin the aim process on that sati-light, Bother! Just seven seconds left(starts playing number 39 classic)

C Eliz: (Begins countdown) Five four Three…

Scene Two,

back in the space ship, the music is still playing

C Eliz: (accidently stops the music)Oh no, I failed the mission! In one second we will all be sucked into a black hole!

Uh,(looks at the clock) In one second we will all be sucked into a black hole! (nothing happens) What’s going on here? I should be sucked into a black hole by now!

Com:(over radio) Uh, the man who told us about the bomb just said “April Fool!”

C Eliz: Oh… Well… Uh… I suppose the special effects department couldn’t have handled a black hole anyway… (turns toward camera) Well, you have now seen one of the many adventures of the Mysterious Pink Thing! Tune in later for more adventures, if there are any.

Com:(over radio) Which I doubt
