Writing and my new schedual

I now have a fairly nice schedual. I wake up and have breakfast around nine. I play on the computer and clean my room a little until lunch. After lunch is over(usually around one) I take a nap until somewhere between three and five. Then I play on my computer some more and do a little bit more housework until supper. Then after supper I play on my computer some more(I spend a lot of time on my computer in case it is not extremely obvious). Then around ten I stop playing on my computer and get down to serious business. I put on my glasses(I have twenty four hundred vision and I usually use my computer with glasses which since I can’t really see in focus past ten inches away from eyes makes using a laptop a little interesting and makes typing difficult.) change the position of my laptop to one where I can comfortable type and begin typing. I then type until one or so(now you see why a nap in the middle of the day is in the schedule). Then around one thirty or so I turn things off and go to sleep.

I really enjoy typing at night. During the day there are interruptions and noises but after ten or so things get quiet and my brain switches into story mode. For the last three nights I have been typing a rough draft of “Elaine’s Pearls” and I just finished it. I’m rather pleased with the speed at which I did it. It is forty five pages long and considering the fact that The Royal Crowns of Scotland which was probably the longest thing I’ve written is about fifty five pages long and took me a month and more to do that is not too bad.

When I use “Pages” I mean book pages. The measure I use is fifty five characters wide by thirty two lines high. I counted on several books and found that to be a good average. So the page estimates I give will be about how many pages a printed book would be.

So now that that is behind me I shall now mention a bit about the book I am writing. The title of the book is Elaine’s Pearls and the story line has undergone great changes though some things have remained from the beginning ramblings of the plot. The main thing has been the “Pearls” though the size of the necklace has changed. Origionally it was going to be a necklace of a hundred perfectly matched pearls that were each an inch in diameter. On learning just how big and heavy that necklace would be I changed it to a pearl necklace that had a hundred and fifty perfectly matched pearls that were only a half inch in diameter. A necklace like that still being worth a fortune.

I must admit that I am having delusions of grandeur about maybe getting this published, currently I think that it might end up to be a fairly interesting book. It has at least three weddings in it and several more mentioned and there is a handsome prince in it so it has a lot of the necessary components of a good story, at least by my standards.

Though the main story line does not have a lot of adventures, daring escapes, battles with dragons, etc. I cleverly thought of a way to put them in. The main character, Elthia, really enjoys reading a book in this story. At first the main purpose of said book was merely to provide one more notable difference between Elthia and her twin sister Elaine(she wears the title pearls). Elaine enjoys reading Cinderella and dreaming of Prince Charming while Elthia enjoys reading an adventure story in which the main character ends up marrying the oldest son of a Duke.

At first that was all of the purpose of the book but now I think I’ll slip in two stories and maybe have Elthia read the book during the happenings of the story. After all, you could really sympathise with Elthia being called away for piano lessons if you yourself were in the middle of the story and it was at a very exciting point.

So right now, since I finished a rough draft of Elaine’s pearls, I think I’m going to write up The Quest for the Red Diamond Necklace of Domanider. I just made up the of Domanider part, before it was just “The Quest for the Red Diamond Necklace”.

The two stories are rather similar for in both stories there a valuable necklace plays an important part. Since I only have a vague idea of the plot of The Quest for the Red Diamond Necklace of Domanider I don’t really know what else is going to be similer between the two stories, but I know this, there will be a lot of similarities.

I do think that it will be rather interesting having a main character enjoy reading a story. And now, since I am tired and have written my quota for today I think I’m going to go to bed. Or actually I can’t really go to bed since I am all ready in bed. However I can turn off the lights and set my laptop aside and close my eyes and that is what I’m about to do.
