1. It was a long flight yesterday and now I am in Hawaii
I suppose you may be wondering why I have a number in the subject area. On previous trips I’ve had some trouble in figuring out which order to post my draft post that I’d written while away on the trip. here fore in a stroke of genious I have decided to use numbers!
According to my computer it is currently 8:28 on Wednesday. Here it is something like two in the morning. I woke up but my parents are still asleep so I thought this would be a good time to write a post.
Yesterday morning around ten we left for the airport. Despite the fact that I had about three embroidery needles with me and a pair of fingernail clippers I got through without a hitch. I had snesibilly packed my scissors in a carry on bag.
And speaking of carry on bags I tried to pack entirely carry on. Which I did to some extent. I have a very full small suitcase and a very full back pack. The suitcase is just clothes, nothing else, and the back pack is everything else. Like my computer, phone, purse(you can only have two carry-on items so I packed my purse in my back pack) cross stitch things, and of course, a teddy bear. Though i didn’t pack Polly who has been my “favorite toy since kindergarten”. As she is getting quite old in years I thought I would leave her at home, especially since the little tiny purple bear I brought was much smaller and space was a great issue.
We got to the airport and managed to get on the airplane bound for Houston without much trouble. I slept through most of the flight, and then towards the end I used one of my approved electronic devices and watched a Charlie Chaplin episode. Silent movies are the best for airplanes. Beacasue then everybody around you can watch it, you don’t have to have captions and, I can’t think of another reason at this time.
In Houston, even though we only had about a forty-five minute layover, Dad said that we couldn’t miss out eating at a certain Barbecue place. I ate at McDonalds. We did make it to the plane for the final boarding call though.
And what a plane it was! HUGE although not so huge as the halls of of some places I’ve been in or read about. We sat on row forty-one if I remember correctly. They had these little monitor screens in front of you, which was very nice. You could play games, watch movies, listen to music, ect. All though since we were flying continental you did have to spend five dollars for a pair of headphones unless you were like me and had a pair in your back pack. Snow White and seven Dwarfs was on as well as a Movie called “Elf” that was greatly enjoyed by my respective family.
After an eight hour flight, which seemed to stretch to infinity, we arrived in Hawaii. My one thought, as it was now two or something in the morning our time and I had woken up at six so iI could use the (sniff) internet for the last time in a while, I wanted to go to our hotel room and go to bed. And gues what we did! We went to our hotel room and went to bed!
It is a very nice hotel room. The beds are very comfortable and I paln on going and enjoying them again as soon as I finish typing this post.
Today, or to be more specific, this afternoon we get on board the ship. I believe we are going sight seeing today and I really hope to stop at Walmart. There is something I want to buy there that wasn’t available for purchase before today. Pluss I would like to buy some more embroidery thread. It is remarkable how much embroidery thread can be used during a six hour flight.
So any rate I think I’ve mentioned about everything so far. Other than the fact that we are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. So now I think I’ll go back to sleep because… Well, nobody else is up and I’m hungry and If I go to sleep I may forget that I am hungry and also speed closer the time that I shall go to Walmart.
The End of this First post written while traveling on the Hawaii Journey.
