A poem/song from “The Hobbit” by J.R.R.Tolkien

I have just filmed the movie I was talking about in the previous post. I did some minor edits to the poem by J.R.R.Tolkien but pretty much I just repeated what I had memorized of it. And I did memorize it!!!

Another point of interest is that I didn’t make anything new for this movie. With the exception of the goblet I hold in one of the stanzas everything I used was already in my room, including the background. You get to see a few of my swords. The sword and shield I hold in stanza eight were made for my by Sarah Massat, and they look quite impressive I think. And of course, I made all of the dresses:)

Part One
Part Two

In case you wish the poem explained to you, I will. The first part of the poem is telling about the dwarves who lived in the mountain and the mighty and beautiful things they made. The second part tells about the dragon who came and destroyed the dwarves and the surrounding lands. In the book of “The Hobbit” the song/poem was sung by the thirteen dwarves, who were descendants of those dwarves who had once lived in the mountain. And in the book, though you don’t get to read any poetry about it, they do end up defeating the dragon and taking back all of the treasures. In fact the harps of gold were still in tune…
