The fun part of Language
Is the projects because acorrding to Mommy I don’t have to do them. Therefore I do not take them seriously and though I may dabble a bit in doing them, I usually write something humorous. Here is an example of a project I just did.
Writing Subordinate Clauses
Complete each group of words by replacing the brackets [ ] with the type of clause given in parentheses.
1. Your promise is as ridiculous as a speckled starling
2. The man, whose gray hat had caused such a fashion crisis, was taken to be fingerprinted.
3. The game, which was Pooh Sticks, was exciting. (adjective clause)
4. What gown Cinderella did not wear to the ball is no one else’s concern. (noun clause)
5. Scott practiced his piano lesson since he knew his allowance would be cut off if he didnt. (adverb clause)
6. It is my duty to report to the police that they consumed twenty-three of my doughnuts while investigating around my house. (noun clause)
7. The printer, which resembles the one in Gutenbergs day, needs more toner. (adjective clause)
8. Working is that which can be both pleasant and unpleasant, rewarding and tiring, and bothersome too! (noun clause)
9. The car, which could run on a good deal faster than my sentances, stopped at the crosswalk. (adjective clause)
10. The minister performed the wedding ceremony as the setting sun sank sulkily and silently through the shreds of summer clouds. (adverb clause)
