It is remarkable for how short a time I work on a story

I suppose one of the main reasons I usually don’t mention when I am working on a story is because I typically don’t keep on working on a story for very long, and then it sort of just idly sits on my computer and in my head until I work on it again for a little while. Now my not sticking with things is not only clear in my story writing, but in quite a lot of other things as well which makes me think that not finishing things, unless I can complete them in a very short period of time, is a flaw of my character. Which is rather bothersome and yet, kind of nice. I have great variety in my life, sometimes I sew, sometimes I knit, sometimes I just sleep, sometimes I write, sometimes I watch DVD’s, Sometimes I spend a whole lot of time on my computer, and sometimes, on rare occasions, I do school. But if I want to be a good enough writer to get something I published I ought to stick with my stories longer. Or at least learn how to type super fast and get it all done before I’m tired of it and want to move on:)

I have just been typing a story about a Prince named Aralthan whose father is named Aralthan. It’s quite interesting. I felt like typing a short romantic story plot about a prince who rescues a beautiful princess and then as I was working on background the story of the prince’s father came up and when I had decided on writing a part one and a part two of the story it suddenly struck me that I ought to have a Part Three to even things out and that opened up a new story… Ideas were actually flowing quite rapidly and I probably have at least four pages of good story ideas and development. True I may not continue writing on this story but it does have potential. There is a LOT of action in it, with dragons, swordfights, kidnappings, engagements, etc. which probably means that this story is beyond my current capabilities as a writer but who knows, I may be better writing the action/excitement parts than I think.

You know, I think that a good dinner really helps my writing capabilities… And also I think that watching about ten hours worth of DVD’s in the past three days helps too…

It really is remarkable but several stories I’ve written are based on music. A particular piece of music would somehow inspire the writing and then I would just play the song, or songs, over and over while I wrote. This typically results in my getting sick and tired of both song and story but… I can think of three examples right off where I started work on a story because of music on a DVD. Some movies allow you to listen only to the music while the movie is playing and some DVD’s have music videos…

I suppose that since I still feel like typing I really ought to go back to work on my current story, or maybe go to sleep. I think that going to sleep is a good idea for me, if not for the story, and at any rate, this post is now over.
