In case you have ever wonderd what a brief cure for congestion in the lungs, I’ll tell you…
This morning, or perhaps I should say for the past few days, I have been sick. Not wishing to dwell on unpleasant subjects I haven’t really mentioned it but… Last night I had a great deal of trouble with breathing and coughing. I actually woke up at five in the morning and couldn’t go back to sleep!!! And when that happens, I know something is wrong, that or we are starting out a trip or something.
But any rate, I was rather upset this morning as David’s Bridal was on the horizon and I didn’t want to miss it, and I also didn’t want to go around coughing in the store and not being able to talk. BUT… At nine thirty-ish Mom and I set out for David’s Bridal. I relaxed in the car and though I was almost driven in a panic by sneezing, and had horrible visions of sneezing in the proximity of some lovely gown and ruining it, I managed to survive the reach the store. I prayed before entering that I wouldn’t show any great signs of illness, and you know what? I didn’t!!! I didn’t even mention I was sick and nobody inquired and I didn’t even feel sick while I was in David’s Bridal. Of course when I left it I started feeling sick again and I’ve been sick for most of today but I can tell you one thing, I have found three ways to not feel so sick, 1. A nice long hot bath 2. Go shopping at a store full of things that are fascinating and delightful to look at 3. Watch DVD’s.
But to get back to the subject of David’s Bridal. We arrived and met Erin, and a friend of Erin’s there. Although there was supposed to be another bridesmaid there, she couldn’t make it so I was the only one trying things on. When I walked in and saw the dress I was very excited, and very pleased. All though I at first looked (in case anyone would like to know, I just sneezed) for something to wear in my serious role of bridesmaid, I wasn’t blind to other dresses. I hadn’t been sick when I got home I probably would have actively utilized my sewing machine, but I still looked at some patterns and thought a good deal…
Now I had done my research before going to David’s Bridal and there had been one outfit that I liked, that appeared to be for me to wear. They didn’t have it in stock in the proper color but I got to try on the dress in a different color. It’s a very nice dress and quite modest, especially since it has a matching jacket. I ought to look nice as the color is beautiful on me, I think.
So I am looking forward to being a bridesmaid, and to being healthy again. Tonight may be a long night unless I miraculously feel much better. I’m not expecting that. But now it’s time for me to take another dose of medicine, watching a DVD while eating supper:) The entertainment committee, though suffering from illness, was capable of discovering, “It’s Valentines Day Charlie Brown” on DVD at Sam’s Club after going to David’s Bridal. It’s quite an interesting DVD. Snoopy is humorous.
Oh, and I have been doing a lot of crocheting lately.
