All though I haven’t gotten a complete and utter go ahead from John to write this post I think I will anyway since just about everybody knows. John is engaged to Erin. I first knew that this was in the wind on Monday when I made a mistake. Dad said that we were going to a jewelry store and knowing Dad I thought that he was going to buy something for Mommy. But quickly indeed did I learn of my error, we were going because John was going to look at engagement rings!!! I was rather surprised as you can imagine. But I wasn’t quite as surprised as Erin was a little bit later… Mom and I were taking her porsche and John and Dad were in his porsche and as we drove up at Jared’s(the jewelry store) John noticed Erin’s car in the parking lot. So he walked in and surprised her in the extreme. Erin’s mother was with her, which was fortunate, because Erin wanted to be surprised with the ring John picked out. So while Erin’s mother, John, and my parents looked at rings I talked to Erin.

Unaccountably the subject moved to bridesmaids as almost all the way to the jewelry store I had been wondering if I would be able to be one. So after asking Erin she said Yes and that she had planned to have me be one. As I told her then my esteem of her went up several notches, and it went up a bit more when she mentioned about what the bridesmaids were to wear… Apple Red Bridesmaid Dresses from David’s Bridal AND you could pick out your dress, to some extent. This is good because I have to dress very modestly and if a low necked dress was chosen I would probably have to break dress code and wear something over or under it. So on Saturday, unless plans change, I think I’m going to go look at dresses with Mom and Erin. Erin is indeed very very nice. And I’m not just saying it because I know she is going to read this post:)

On Tuesday the actual engagement took place, when John gave Erin her ring. I think it happened between the hours of ten and eleven thirty P.M. and that John wasn’t planning on giving it to her quite yet, but changed his mind. I haven’t yet had time to unlock the details of that evening, and I may never know. But the fact of the matter is that John is now engaged and I am going to get to be a Bridesmaid!!!
