Being too sick to go to the YMCA does not equal being too sick to stay home and SEW!!!
Now what you are about to see and read about is entirely John’s fault. If he hadn’t gotten engaged to Erin, Erin would have never asked me to be a bridesmaid. If Erin had not asked me to be a Bridesmaid I would not have gone to David’s Bridal and selected a dress. If I had not selected the dress I did Mom would not have decided to make a matching Bolero top to go with it. If Mom had not selected and bought the pattern she did to make the top I would not have been inspired to make the outfit in the pattern. Which is, to some extant, what I did this evening though I made significant alterations to the pattern. Here is a picture of the dress
This is not the best of pictures but it gives you the general idea. You can hardly see it, but there is a separate jacket. So now I am quite tired and I have a back ache, which I am going to cure by having a snack and watching a DVD:) Oh, a happy lot is mine! I may be one of the few sixteen year olds who is brought exceeding joy by the sight of a school bus. And that is because I don’t have to ride on them:) Or go to whence they go. The reason for mentioning this is when Mom and I went to Walmart and got the pattern for the dress, on our way home we arrived near where we lived a little bit behind the school bus, and therefore we got to see where all the children lived near us.
Now, just so you don’t misunderstand my opening paragraph, as it kind of sounds like I am not happy that John got engaged to Erin. Actually I am extremely pleased about all of the things that I mentioned. I am quite glad to have my new pink dress, and I’ll be even happier still when I get my actual bridesmaid’s gown, and get to be a bridesmaid. And it is going to be GREAT having a sister living just next door. So as it was my decision to make the dress anyway, I don’t think I’ll let John have the credit of it.
And now, since Mom and Dad will be back from the YMCA soon, it is time to watch a DVD:)
