A story of what might have happened
Once upon a time a long time ago a knight started walking across the courtyard of his castle. He did not look up and see a giant eagle carrying a captive princess and rush to save her nor did he see a band of ravenous vultures ready for fresh meat. Instead he made his way across the courtyard to the gate.
There the gates were not stuck and he was able to open them without exerting the superhuman strength which he did not have. Once outside he did not see a fierce army of savages ready to attack him and destroy his castle nor did he see an orphan child left at his door step that would later grow up and find out it was royalty.
Instead he saw that it was a lovely day and the sun was shining and the grass was green and he decided to go for a ride. So he walked back across the courtyard to the stable where he found that the stable was not on fire and rabid dogs were not biting the horses and about to attack him too. Instead he found his favorite horse and after saddling him, he mounted. The horse was not lame.
Then as he rode out of the gates a fierce dragon did not swoop down to attack him but as he rode out into the fresh spring air a giant thunderstorm did not pour down gallons of rain drops upon him. He rode along the edge of a forest and he was not attacked by a band of outlaws seeking plunder but instead he went on until he came to a stream where he dismounted and did not sprain his ankle in so doing. He drank from the stream which was not enchanted so he did not turn into a frog or fall into a deep forgetful sleep. The water was delicious and after he and his horse had drank their fill they went on.
They did not come to a ruined castle where a beautiful princess was sleeping in the topmost turret but instead the found a castle in perfect repair with drawbridge down and gates open that had not been there before. This puzzled the knight and he decided to enter. The castle did not vanish into thin air as he was crossing the drawbridge not did the portcullis come crashing down upon him as he entered and he soon found himself in a great stone courtyard that was not falling into ruin and covered with sharp thorns.
As he approached the gat he was not greeted by a mysterious knight in black armor but instead a beautiful young woman walked out. She did not say she was a princess but instead just stood their smiling until she did not turn into a stone statue. He smiled at her and he did not turn into a stone statue either, instead he dismounted and walked towards her and he did not trip over a loose stone in the pavement and break his arm.
When he reached her she held out her hand and he kissed it. Then she did not explain that she was under an enchantment until a knight kissed her hand but instead said that she was under an enchantment until some one defeated the giant mouse who lived in the main hall of the castle. He did not rush into the castle, attack the giant mouse, defeat him, and then be eaten slowly by the giant cat who was about to eat the giant mouse but instead said that he had no interest in giant mice and politely left.
He rode back without being stung by giant hornets and after dismounting back at his own castle, which still was not being attacked, he had his dinner, which was not poisoned, and went to bed, which did not collapse when he put his weight into it. Then he did not stay awake, fitfully tossing about, all night but instead went right to sleep and did not sleep for a hundred years. Thus ends that day of the knight
MORAL: Over Ninety Nine percent of the things that could happen don’t so don’t worry about things until they happen but always prepare for the worst and the worst probably won’t come.
I rather like having my story part be in Italics because it sets it apart from the rest of the post. I hope that story was rather interesting though I fear I didn’t put in enough things that didn’t happen. Oh well, it still may be interesting and I might print it off for lunch and see what the general verdict is.
Oh, and it is now ten days until the cruise!!!
