Remarkable how plans oft go amis

I had plans for writing an informative post every day this week but… Fortunately I have something to blame. We went to Sam’s Club, a large store selling items at low prices which require a membership card to purchase, and they had a package of “Educational” computer games for the low figure of $14.00. I got it and I have been busy playing. When a “Save and Exit” button is not obvious one may play a game for a very long(and I mean long) time. I started one of the games “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago” last night around nine or so. I won a little past twelve. So perhaps for a normal person it may take five hours or more to win, probably not playing strait through though.

It was rather interesting. Did you know that the deepest lake is in Russia? And that more people speak Portuguese in Brazil than in Portugal(the fact that Brazil is bigger than Portugal may have something to do with this)? And that a game aimed at eight to twelve year olds can actually interest an almost sixteen year old with a high IQ? Even though it may bore while the characters are talking?

One of the most enjoyable parts of the game was when the characters came to a location and I could say to myself “I’ve been there!”. History and Geography do come alive more when you have actually been to the spot mentioned. I’ve been to the Alhambra, Pompeii, Paris, Lisbon, the rock of Gibraltar and so many other places and when they are mentioned I remember what is said about them and actually being there. True, I mainly know about the gift shops but… Oh, a bit of information about the gift shops near large tourist attractions, the further you get from the attraction(like a cathedral or something) the lower the prices get. This may not always be so and I do not recommend going far or you may get lost but if there is a gift shop right next door to the attraction and one down a back street a block away the one down the back street may be less expensive than the one nearby. Of course if you are in Europe it probably means that you aren’t too miserly or else you would have stayed at home and read about the places for free on the internet…

As you can see, I am attempting a bit of an informative post here. At some point, probably when I can put pictures on here again, I plan to do an indepth sewing instructional post or two as that is something I have a lot of experience in.

When I turn sixteen I am probably going to update the “About me post” and by update I mean write a new one. Oh, and if you see any comments that don’t look like the belong on my website, don’t go to the website that will be linked to it as it is probably a bad, junk, spam, website. I suppose I ought to pull out a thesaurus and figure out some really descriptive negative words but I don’t feel like doing that.
