I’m working on a story I haven’t worked on in over a year…

And it is somewhat interesting especially since I lost just about all of the information on the story in a hard drive crash over a year ago… However I found this post that I had written about it and some of the story came back to me. With further stretching of my memory more of the story came back and I have already written a fairly good plot and I’m currently working on character development. Considering the fact that I seldom work on a story for long, the chances of this story becoming anything is doubtful but at the moment I am working on the story so who knows?

I was working very hard on the story in which Drelia was the main character but I got stuck. I changed the beginning and ending of that story and somehow the whole story didn’t seem to make sense anymore and it was also a space/science fiction story and quite frankly, I prefer more fairy-tale/LordOfTheRings type stories when it comes to writing. I think I prefer writing stories like “Elaine’s Pearls”, which I may post here someday, though I’d rather publish it, or “The Royal Crowns of Scotland” which is posted here.

This story is a bit different from the two previous, mainly because the main character is actually going to be… Wait a minute. I don’t really want to spoil the plot. But any rate there is going to be a lost kingdom/city and a great quest to find it and restore it to it’s previous state of prosperity and, and, and… uh, magnificence. So I think I’ll head back to the story. I haven’t exactly decided where the humor of this story is going to come in, but there is room for it. I just figured out the names for the main characters. Their names probably will be: Dalthnodair, the main character; Gandaleous, he’s an old man, sort of like Gandalf, and you can see where his name was inspired from; Professor Relborin and his son Relborin Juniour, both are excellent in the lore of the lost city, but not so excellent when it comes to adventures; Snobornia, as far as it is known she is a descendant of the ancient rulers, which makes her an important person; Ranger, I couldn’t think of a good name for him since he is going to be the Hero, more or less, of the book so I decided everyone will just call him Ranger, he may be a bit like Aragorn. And all though I may seem to have based a few of my characters on characters from Lord of the Rings, I assure you they will be somewhat different.

I actually did a Google search for each of my characters names to make sure that no one else, at least on the internet, had used them and I couldn’t find them. Though now I probably can:) I’m quite surprised that Relborin wasn’t taken because if you add a space and a few extra letters you get two very interesting words that may, though I hope not, describe the essence of the character.

So you now have an update on my writing project. The schedule for this evening is… Write a more advanced plot as I currently only have a short one where nobody but Dalthnodair(the only name I could remember from my previous work on this story) had a name and every one was mentioned like, “the Gandalf Character”, “the not so adventurous old man”, “the mysterious man”, “the young woman”, etc. etc. It will be far less confusing now that I have names and Ranger is indeed far easier to type than “the mysterious man”.

And surprisingly, though swords and daggers may play an important part in the story, I currently don’t have a single sword fight written into the plot. All though there are quite a few blank spots in the plot where things could be inserted… And I don’t really have a good ending for the story quite yet. But I suppose I’ve written quite enough on this post and I think I ought to go type out the plot before I get too utterly tired of typing.
