I have just been brought home by a handsome young man in a red Porsche
It was a most exhilarating ride, and by that I mean my adrenaline was running rapidly. Red Porsches on Rain Days demand to do interesting things, like under-steer and skidding. There is a big difference in riding in a silver Porsche with your mother driving it and riding in a red Porsche with an eighteen-year-old-about-to-be-nineteen-year-old driving. And in case you don’t know by now, my brother Andrew drove me home today. As I told Andrew, if anybody else, with perhaps the exception of John, had been driving that car and doing some of the things he was doing, I probably would have been much more terrified. As it was, my adrenaline just increased a little at times. But Andrew was very careful, he didn’t do interesting things with his car when there was traffic around, but when there wasn’t… One turn he showed me how his car under-steered. I’m not sure I can describe with words the feeling but Andrew said that he kept the brake on while turning too late, or something like that. At any rate he waited to turn until the turn was right there and then there was a bit of a skidding noise and things felt exciting, but by that time I was fairly calm being used to this sort of thing. And THEN he told me he hadn’t done that before much… It was quite interesting. I think the biggest thrill of the ride was right at first when after I got in the car he pulled out of the parking lot and onto the street… It was… You know I just realized something, Mom is going to read this post!
So um, Andrew drives very nice and slow and careful except when it is rainy and wet and there is no traffic and very little chance of screeching off the road into some dark ditch and only being found after years and years had passed by a pedestrian hiker. I thoroughly enjoyed riding home with Andrew. His birthday is on Monday and he will be Nineteen. Today he is eighteen. I have already given him his birthday present. Andrew is a most interesting person and he was nice enough to carry the take out boxes to the car (we had eaten at a Mexican Restaurant). I do not like carrying out take out boxes in case anybody wants to know. However I do like it when some body else carries them. So now I am going to end this post and I hope that Mom will let me ride in Andrew’s Porsche again.
