This Post has been long Forseen and Considered…

This morning Mom mentioned on our way to church that… Well, to begin with she mentioned Laura Ingles Wilder who had a sister who was blind. She was so used to describing things to her sister that when it came time to write she was quite good at descriptions. So Mom told me that each week I ought to take something and describe it fully. So… I think I shall begin something descriptive.

After church this morning, which was excellent, we walked out of our church. The parking lot of our church is fairly large and as we came “early” this morning we had parked at the very end of it, which is a fairly long walk away. On getting to the car we found that Andrew, who typically is at the car ahead of us since he goes to the collage and career Sunday school class, wasn’t there. So with the use of our trusty cell phones Dad called Andrew while Mom called John. I don’t think that Daniel was called at that time since I didn’t use my cell phone but merely sat in a somewhat sleepy state. I don’t remember whether or not Andrew was reached but John was and informed Mom that “they were already on their way” to Salsa’s, which is a Mexican Restaurant we eat at frequently on Sunday Afternoons. As I knew Andrew was not the “they” mentioned I correctly assumed that Erin was having lunch with us.

Andrew arrived at the car a short while later and stated that he had remained talking since normally he had to wait some time for us to come out to the car. After an interesting conversation on the indecisive braking habits of the average American driver we arrived at Salsa’s and saw that John’s Porsche was there.

On entering the restaurant we saw that John and Erin were indeed there, and that they had ordered cheese dip or Queso. On sitting down and partaking a good deal of said Cheese Dip (note, I have been sitting here and staring for about a minute or so trying to think of a way to end this sentence. As I can’t I am moving on…). Erin I think grows on people. I felt a bit stiff around her when I first met her, and I wasn’t quite sure what to think about her, but I’m beginning to like her. She is quite pretty.

As I do not wish to bore anybody with too long a description of the afternoon, and as I wish to take a nap, I will get to the more interesting happening of the afternoon. I noticed John nudge Erin’s left arm ever so slightly and then I noticed that when they both took a sip of water a little bit later Erin used her right hand to hold her straw, and John used his left hand… This meant that… Well, I didn’t look under the table to see but apparently I have a hard time controlling my facial expressions and John, who was sitting directly across from me suddenly grinned broadly and held up his hand and Erin’s to show that yes, they were holding hands.

Erin has been in two, I think, car accidents and as many of her relations have also been in car accidents she is quite cautious, and is urging John to be a bit more cautious. Which is probably good for John who though I wouldn’t call him a reckless driver, I wouldn’t call him a “cautious” driver. Erin also appears to be a good Christian, which is very good too. So overall I think she is probably (um, I almost am saying “good enough” but that doesn’t quite seem to be complementary enough to Erin…) a good influence for him. I suppose by putting things in parenthesis I am ruining my point but…

So I think tomorrow I’ll try to write a very descriptive post about the YMCA perhaps. As I’m going to be there for an hour or so in the evening perhaps I should write a post on the ratio of ceiling fans to power outlets… And perhaps I should count how many exercise machines there are too! That sounds like a good thing to do instead of exercising… I’ll probably try to bring a notebook or something to write down all of the miscellaneous information I can come up with.

And in case you were wondering, John mentioned at Lunch today that holding hands while driving a car with a stick shift is NOT recommended.
