We went out to eat at Bucca De Beppo’s today for lunch after church in celebration of my birthday. The first of the wonderful surprises came when I walked in and I saw Greer and Bryn, two of my best friends, inside. I wasn’t expecting them to be there because usually I only see them about once a year and I’d already seen them this year and they have a very busy schedule. i was really happy to see them.

I was wearing my Tiara and a really pretty outfit and I felt just like a princess. We ate in the Pope’s room of the italian restaurant. There is a large round table and on it is a lazy susan with a statue of the pope in the center. At the head of the table is a very fancy chair and there I sat with Greer on my right and Bryn on my left.

Quite a few guests were there, I think sixteen people in total. There were myself, Greer, and Bryn as I’ve already mentioned, My Mom, my Dad, my brother Daniel, my brother Andrew, there was Laura Beth (Daniel’s girlfriend), my Grandmother, Mike and Robbie “Dishie”, Three Dennings, and Jeff and Heidi.

It’s remarkable how even when you know how to pronounce peoples names when it comes to writing them down you suddenly are confronted by the problem of spelling their names and sometimes one can’t think of the proper spelling…

Dinner was great. My dad ordered a lot of food and even though everybody ate a lot of food there still was quite a bit left over. About the time we were done eating Mom asked me if I was done and I said that I could be and she and I walked away from the table. Mom then went back for a few moments leaving me with strict instructions not to go back and I didn’t until she came and told me it was alright. When I got back nothing seemed to have changed. A few years ago I probably would have been bugging people to find out what had happened but this year I very elegantly didn’t though I checked my chair to make sure that I wasn’t going to sit on anything sharp when I sat down.

Shortly after came birthday presents! First there was a lovely card from the Dennings which had lip gloss in it. Then I think(the exact sequence of events is a trifle bit blurred) the Diffies gave me a bag containing a Mary Englbert book about the Birthday Queen(the card was addressed to Queen Elizabeth) and also a journel about “My Glamorous Life” and a twenty dollar Walmart Gift Card!!! Next Bryn and Greer gave me a pretty box which had a card and quite a lot of hair accesories and some jewelry and some other pretty miscellaneous things. The card was addressed “To the two twins, who is only one person” and was referring to a movie I starred in with Greer and Bryn called “A Tale of Three Twins” where I played twin sisters and Bryn played twin sisters and Greer was the queen. Then Mom picked up a gift bag she had somewhat mysteriously carried into the restaurant when she went in and had handed to Dad just as she and I left. This was now handed to me and I opened and first I found a bud of a of a fake flower and then a quarter and an empty trash bag which I thoroughly investigated to make sure it was really empty. Since Mom and Dad had already given me several really nice presents and I hadn’t been expecting more from them I was not disappointed or to rephrase that, I did not burst into tears.

At Bucca de Beppos they have a candelabra which they bring out when it is a birthday party and this soon showed up. I was busy looking at that and the deserts and didn’t not immediately notice what was going on around me and when I turned to my right i was suddenly aware that something was not quite normal. A few seconds later I looked around the table and saw that EVERYBODY had just put on those funny glasses that have the big nose with the black mustache and eyebrows. It was a complete and total surprise!!! I really enjoyed it. After desert nose jokes and mustache jokes went around.

But desert should not be skipped over so hastily. it was delicious. I really enjoyed what I ate though I didn’t eat as much as I could have if I had wanted to for I was allowed to serve myself. However I didn’t want to be too sick next week as I have a lot to do.

I had a lot of fun today. There probably was a lot I could have mentioned but didn’t since it’s time for a nap.

And speaking of things I didn’t mention, Friday Andrew got a new car. It’s a beautiful vibrant yellow Porsche and I was very correct and didn’t leave off the E at the end of the word Porsche. I have some pictures of it and I’ll probably put them up on Monday. He likes it a lot and he mentioned that I had forgotten to mention it on my website. So I’ll mention it now and probably mention it more thoroughly later. it’s fun to ride in!
