Royal Princess Charm School

I am almost graduated from twelfth grade. After twelve or more years of home-schooling I know a lot, but kindly don’t ask me to tell you anything. I generally have looked on school as something I need to do but I generally do not take any great pains to learn what I’m supposed to be learning. Therefore, I don’t know as much as I could have if I’d paid attention and not wasted so much time.

And what does this have to do with the Royal Princess Charm School? Well, I officially enrolled there on Tuesday. You see, I went to Walmart on Saturday and at Walmart I wandered their back to school supplies aisles and while there my eyes fell upon a Disney Princess Backpack. I really, really, really liked that backpack and it was even the affordable price of under ten dollars. The only thing was I had recently read through the Money Makeover book and after reading that book I always have a fit of frugality which, while it is shortlived, does have drastic affects on my spending. I spent less than two dollars at Walmart that trip and I bought a notebook, a set of ten markers, a set of two black sharpies, and some Elmers School Glue.

After leaving Walmart I was still thinking about the backpack. I was trying to figure out a logical, rational, and economical reason to buy it as I felt I ought to have a reason for doing so. I forget the exact point of time I figured out a sufficiently logical and rational reason to get the backpack but the reason was… To put my school supplies and school books in! Great reason! Only thing was, being that I just had two half hour video lessons to watch before I was totally done with school I didn’t have any school books to put in it and as I wasn’t planning to college if there was any possible way to avoid it… I needed a reason for school books.

Being that I have the wonderful imagination that I have and being that I had a French course I was trying to force-feed myself and some piano instruction books to go through I decided that these educational studies books would go in the backpack along with maybe some flashcards and other educational materials for me to go over in my leisure when I wasn’t admiring the backpack.

As this schoolwork obviously should have a school to back it and a school name I decided, after considering several other options to name it, The Royal Princess Charm School and her royal highness, Princess Elizabeth Joy Von Fange, was enrolled as the first member. One does need to be a princess to attend this school therefore the kingdom and empire of Strylar kindly offered to make me an honorary princess due to my writing such a long story(72 pages) about them. Also, they didn’t have any choice in the matter.

I still don’t have the backpack yet due to the new princesses inability to convince any member of her family to drive her back to Walmart. The past few days have almost made me want to get a car and a drivers license but that isn’t going to happen anytime soon. However, I did find a lot of educational books when I cleaned up my room on Monday and on Tuesday I selected five workbooks to be the first course of study. One of these was a non fiction historical account written by Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan about upperclass life around the turn of the century. It’s filled with a lot information so I’m calling it “history”. I also have a french work book, which is smaller than the full length course I plan to take later, and a beginner piano book and, in the course on Sewing, a Barbie sized pattern of four gorgeous period costumes of which, since I’ve already made one, I’m going to try make the other three and once I’ve made all three and they turned out nicely then that “work book” will be accounted finished.

The final of the five work books I selected was a very easy origami books with nine projects in it. The official Royal Princess Schoolwork Selection committee chose three projects for me to memorize and I’ve already learned one of them!!! It is sooooo wonderful to take a piece of paper and turn it into a pretty little box all from memory. I feel like I’ve actually accomplished something and learned something.

So I’m enjoying the Royal Princess Charm School though I’m really hoping I’ll be getting to get the Princess Backpack I want soon because then I’ll have a place to put my workbooks. It’s fun to be able to choose my “workbooks” and be learning the skills I want to know. I’ve wanted for a long time to be able to make Origami but I’ve never sat down and learned before now, not really learned I mean. I can make frogs but frogs certainly can’t compare with cicadas and jewel boxes which what I’ll be learning now.

So, as this post is quite long enough, I shall be ending it now. Oh, one thing, I think I’ll be having my next long story finished very soon and I’ll probably post it on here when I’m done. It’s quite funny if ridiculous.
