Andrew has less teeth now than he had before
Hi! I’m writing down some recent events of note and significance to me.
Saturday was quite fun. I went to CompUSA and bought a new expansion pack for The Sims 2 called Open for Business. I’ve really been enjoying having my Sims have businesses and going shopping at said businesses. Simulated shopping can be very enjoyable and doesn’t cost anything. Well, aside from the initial price of the expansion pack it doesn’t. I also went to Dollar Tree on Saturday and got a pair of earrings that I just love! They were only a dollar but they look the earrings one can find in stores for $15 to $30 dollars that look like they ought to be priced for $1.00. They are dangly and very large. I do not have another pair of earrings like them. I got them just for the fun of getting them and I may not really wear them much because they are quite large(the longest dangly part reaches to my shoulder) and I don’t really have an outfit that matches them(They are primarily gold in color with light blue plastic gems/beads at the ends) but they are different and therefore fun.
Sunday(Easter) we went to the early sunrise service at church. Normally we go to the 10:30 church service which means I get to wake up at my normal time of around 8:30 to 9:00. Sunday I was awake before 6:30 which was highly unusual for me.
On Monday I realized that I’d been watching WAY to much online television lately and that just lying in bed watching online TV was not getting anything done and was turning my brain into mush. So I decided to not “just” watch TV but to knit while I was doing so and so I knitted a beautiful purse with a shoulder strap and a neat woven texture. I did it in one day and it took many hours to do so technically I really didn’t decrease my TV watching, but at least I had a purse to show for it!!!
On Tuesday I woke up early again for I was accompanying my family to the orthopedic surgeon’s office. My brother Andrew was having his wisdom teeth taken out. I was pretty sleepy, primarily due to the early hour of raising and the late hour of my going to sleep due to finishing the purse of the last paragraph. I kind of was in a sleepy trance all of the way there and while I was at the waiting room. Andrew meanwhile was put in a definite trance because he was knocked out completely for the surgical removal of all four of his wisdom teeth.
I was not there at the time of Andrew’s awakening but he was talking randomly (even for Andrew) and very incoherently (which was strange) and was certainly not all there mentally. He was taken to the car where he settled down and sort of slept all of the way home.
Once home a new problem developed. My brother John had come to see how Andrew was and while he was talking to Dad he noticed that one of my Dad’s eyes was very blood shot and didn’t look right… Mom made an appointment with the eye doctor and I was instructed that I might be head nurse by myself for a while. With a brother who was quite himself and who was bleeding into gauze that would need to be changed every half hour or so and who could not feel his mouth to do this himself very well I was not particularly happy about the situation. I have a weak stomach. However the day was saved in the shape of my brother Daniel who drove over and sat in the living room with Andrew and me while Mom and Dad were away.
No emergencies occurred but it was kind of weird when, out of complete silence of several minutes duration, Andrew said, “Uh hu” and when I said, “What” he said, “Yes, I should have taken the left turn there”. Apparently he thought we were driving in the car. Later when he felt more awake he sat on the couch and I put Star Wars in. He read the Star Wars title as “Happy Easter”. It was a rather different afternoon… But he perked up a lot when, at his request, I put in a movie about race cars. And shortly after that Mom and Dad came home and Dad’s eye was pronounced to be pretty much okay and nothing too serious. So all was well and I was able to resume my knitting and watching online TV. I started knitting on another purse while watching Andrew.
Today I finished that purse. It’s white and the other was green. I think the first one looks better than the second. I’ll probably be knitting a third one soon. Today was notable in that I’ve actually done a lot of reading and non computer things today. Well, a lot for me. I glanced over a book about the Bill of rights. I read “Whatever happened to Penny Candy” which is an excellent book explaining economics. I got about half way through a lateral thinking puzzle book with guessing correct answers on most of the puzzles. AND on top of that I’ve written a post on my website today! That’s a good sign:)
So am I done with mushing my brain up with computer games and TV shows? Probably not. But I’m hoping to be doing some other things in the near future and put my TV show watching to good use while I’m doing it and perhaps even write some TV shows of my own. I’ve gained a lot of story ideas and characters by all of this and hopefully soon I’ll be putting them to use:)
