To be History or not to be History?

Nathan Hale’s famous last words before he was hung were “Give me liberty or give me death.”
In 1492 Columbus set foot on what is now known as the United Sates of America.
The battle of Bunker hill was fought just outside of New York. It was a brilliant victory for the Brittish.

The French and Indian war was the first major war between Britian and France.

As far as he can remember, Sam slept the night away in deep content if indeed logs are contented.
(Thanks again J.R.R.Tolkien)

Intelligence(And the lack of it)

“I am going, There must be some one in this party with intelligience”
“Then you certianly will not be chosen, Perigrin Took!”
(Thank you J.R.R.Tolkien.)

What might happen in a lab…

“Where did you put that case of Guinea pigs?”
“I don’t know. But if you start singing I bet they will be found quickly.” The head scientist began to sing in a low base voice that sounded awful. The guinea pigs started to squeal and were found.
(I wrote this but the method may have been used before:)

It is all Greek to me

Have you ever read “The Golden Fleece”? I read it several years ago. At that time I belive it was my least favorite book and I considered the plot awful. I still do and I have never reread it. For those of you who have never read it here is a very short synopsis of it. Jason is a prince and he has an evil Uncle. His uncle tells him about the golden fleece that was taken away from their kingdom and placed in one far away. So Jason, not knowing that as soon as his boat is out of the harbor his uncle will take over, goes off to find the fleece. On the way he stops by an Island completely ruled by women(they pushed the men out years ago). The beautiful young ruler falls in love with Jason but he continues on his quest leaving her broken hearted. He then goes to the place that has the golden fleece. He is helped out there by another beautiful girl who helps him get the fleece. She goes back with them to his home country. Nothing goes as planned, I forget whether they got shipwrecked or storm blown of thier course but they don’t sail into the harbor. They find out that Jason’s Uncle(Jason has taken a long time in his journey) has completly taken over and that Jason’s parents are dead. The girl who came back with them(I don’t remember her name) decided to go and kill the Uncle so that Jason can return. She goes but while she is gone Jason ceases to love her and fall madly in love with a princess. She loves him too and the book seems to indicate that it will have something of interest(a wedding) when the other girl comes back. She is jealus and kills the princes, breaking Jasons heart at the same time. They part and I think she dies unmarried. He returns very sad to a kingdom that is less than overjoyed to see him and they all live unhappily ever after. So much for greek mythology.

The Dollmarket

Before I begin on the history of my excursion, I think a breif explanation about the great Dollmarket. It is the largest doll store in America. It has excellent sales too. Today was a very important day because Mel Odem(The designer of Gene(A fashion doll I collect)) and Robert Tonner (The ddesigner of Tyler, Kitty, and many more(I collect Tyler)) were there. The Dollmarket has two buildings, a sale room and the main room which is as large as a Walmart and covered with dolls, almost all of which are floor models.
Today was a very big event as I have already said. Especially since the sale room which normally has very good sales had an additional 1/2 off. So something that was origanly $60 on sale for $28 was only $14. Things cleared out very quickly. Fortunatly my Mom and I arrived about 10 minutes before it opened. There was alread a long line of people waiting to get into the doll market sale room when we got there. Shopping carts vanished. I had a very fun time. I found a Tyler doll outfit(Normally very expensive) for $14 and quite a few other doll bargins including a Krippelbush Kid and Madam Alexander Outfit for the 6 inch doll. I also found a nice birthday present for my brother Andrew. It was a stuffed bear. After getting a few other items we had my dad deposite both my moms purchases and mine in the car. After that we went into the main room. There we learned that the designers would not be in until one when we thought that they would be there when we got there. I also saw that all of the sales on the Gene dolls had mysteriously vanished. I was upset since on the Internet there were some very good sales and I was counting on getting a few items and not haveing to pay shipping. On being encountered by a friendly sales person I explained the difference in prices and found out that since Mel Odem was going to be there they had removed the sale tags from the dolls but they would still show up at the sale price on the computer. I was overjoyed and promtlly had her write down two Gene dolls and two outfits. It would have been more only I didn’t want to spend too much. On the way to the cash register I saw an Alex(Another fashion doll that is 15 1/2 inches(that is Gene doll size)) on sale that I liked and that joined the other items. I saw a Sydney doll that I really liked(Sydney is from the same designer as Tyler and in the same group.) and that joined the list. Upon reaching the cash register I was told that the Sydney doll was out of stock. I was disappointed but I got the rest of the items. My Dad carried the out to the car after my Mom had made a couple of purcheses of her own. Then I saw a Tyler doll at the same price as the Sydney doll and I thought that I would get her to make up for the Sydney I didn’t get. So I did and my Dad carried her out to the car. After that my Mom and I walked around and after waiting for a long time the designers came and sat at there tables to sign things. Before that I had stood in line twice, once for a Tyler catalog and once for a Gene catalog. They were signed and my picture taken with eache designer. Then my Mom was looking at a very lovely doll that she wanted but didn’t consider on sale enough. Since her birthday is tommorow(I don’t remember how old she is going to be, nor would I mention it.) my Dad bought her for my Mom as well as another outfit for her and a few other things. Then two young girls(I would say around 10) came in with there mother. Apparrently for Christmas they had gotten a Tyler doll and the DELUX Trunk. It is completely lined, has room for three dolls, drawres, a shoe rack, shelves and lots of room to hang clothes. I had been looking at this trunk ever since I saw it in the catalog but its price was a bit much. However after looking at the little girls with it, and their putting there new doll in it, and how nice the clothes hung in it… I ended up getting it after all. When I got in line for it my mother added two doll stands and a poster show a large picture of Barney Fife saying “Security by Fife, Nothing Much Gets Past Him.” After examining my beautiful new trunk(And the fact that it was about two thirty and we hadn’t eaten lunch yet) my Mom decided that she wanted one last look at the sale room. Then it would be time to go. So my dad took the purchases to the car while my Mom and I had one last look at everything in the sale room. We didn’t get anything that time and headed to the car. We have a fifteen passenger van with the front seat removed so that there is a lot of space when you open the door. It was completely covered with bags, boxes, dolls…. I was shocked. I did not think that we had bought THAT much. In closing, We had a lot of fun at the Dollmarket and I can’t wait to get all of my beautiful dolls out of their boxes and arrange them.

The Romance of Aster

This is a story I wrote a couple of months ago. I didn’t spend much time on it. And not all of it is grammatically correct but overall it is a very interesting story.
