Tomorrow I leave for Arkensaw…
And when I return I will begin posting again, I will be back on Monday.
And when I return I will begin posting again, I will be back on Monday.
Since I do not desire to talk about Egg talk I have no subject at all. In fact I have no idea how this post will go but I shall make sure to type something. Which reminds me of this “Two boys were talking together about there fathers. The first boy said “My father can talk for an hour on any subject” and the second boy said “My father can talk for an hour without a subject!”" But actually I do have a subject! I am talking about not having a subject… If of course that makes sense all though it probably won’t to some but it may to others. And since I am using jokes from various places this happened in the “Wizard of Oz”(the movie, I liked it better than the book and that seldom happens.) The scarecrow says to Dorothy “But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking…” You have have noticed that I like “…” Eventually I am going to see if I can’t put an “About me” section on my website, but that is rather silly because this whole website is more or less about me. Now how did I get on to that subject? I guess it is because I am randomly typing whatever comes into my head. Oh and this morning I printed out my post on Pig latin and every body enjoyed it! Of course Mom pointed out some of my grammatical mistakes, but she enjoyed it and Dad laughed and on the whole I was very pleased with the success of my post. I have typed for as long as I was hoping to type so I will probably end.
I think that is a very interesting title and would probably make a good book title and several people would probably buy it. Besides it would probably take more or less time than twenty minutes to become Bilingual depending on which language you were learning. And all though one can learn the basics of the language I am going to teach in less than twenty minutes, perfect fluency and being able to understand others talking in this language may take longer. The language I am about to teach is Pig Latin, some other time when I don’t have anything else to say I will probably give a course on Egg Talk.
But to begin with Igpay Atinlay(Pig Latin for Pig Latin), This language sounds a lot better than it writes but since I am not doing a video course you will have to imagine how it sounds, and it can sound very fascinating. Now the basics of Igpay Atinlay is very simple, AY remember it because those simple letters and a few basics rules is the whole… the whole (I can’t think of a word!!! Yikes! writers block is upon me, I should consult a Thesaurus but I am too lazy so I shall improvise) Olewhay of Pig Latin. Now for the basic rules and we shall use two sample words to illustrate, Cat and It,(why I chose those will always be a mystery…) Now to speak the word “Cat” in pig latin(If you don’t like Cat’s I shall have a seperate section on the word “Dog” and if you don’t like dogs then I shall illustrate with the word “Me” and if you don’t like “Me” I shall be very sad…) Any way To say the word Cat first take the “C” and move it to the end of the word like this “atc” for the word “Dog” “Ogd” and for “Me” “Em” and you probably won’t be in Kansas any more if you continue with this(Auntie Em) Next you and “ay” to the end, for example “Atcay” “Ogday” “Emay”. Very, very simple with individual words but try to say “Eterpay Iperpay Ickedpay apay Eckpay Ofpay Ickledpay Epperspay” seven times fast. Or say anything in Igpay Atinlay.
But we haven’t finished yet because I haven’t demonstrated what to do with words that begin with a vowel, It becomes Itpay and you may ask were the word Pit came from or where the P came from, it is customary to add pay to the end of words that begin with vowels. However in some dialects they use “way” but you can use either method. Now you know enough to begin with and I shall still type away with some more hints and tips as it is only 10:00 here and I want to get up early.
Contrary to some persons opinion(I don’t know who but it sounds interesting) it is not always best to learn Igpay Atinlay by yourself. It is a very good idea to find somebody to practice and learn with, then you can correct each other and learn how to understand each other, it is harder to understand others speaking in Igpay Atinlay than to speak it yourself. I, Daniel, and Andrew learned Igpay Atinlay together one day when we were in the car. At first I could eakspay it but couldn’t understand(long words beginning in vowels don’t sound very well in pig latin) but by now I understand it fairly well and I can speak it faster than I can speak English which sounds very impressive to those people who can’t speak Pig Latin. Oh and if you have ever wanted to sing Opera Pig Latin is perfect, You don’t have to know any words, just the tune, and you can just say what ever comes into your head to the tune and it sounds very impressive providing your audience doesn’t know pig latin. For example “Ipay On’tday Owknay Ethay Ordsway Otay Isthay Ongsay, Otay Istha Ongsay.” sounds very well to the tune of “La Donna Mobile”
So to summarize, Rules of Pig Latin, 1. For a word that begins with a consonant put it at the end of the word and add ay. 2. For a word that begins with a vowel and pay to the end of the word. 3. Umm… I don’t really think that there is a third rule, Just enjoy it and if you are ever in Europe speak Pig Latin. It helps you blend in to the surroundings and is great if you want to talk about the Taxi drivers without them knowing what you are saying.
Well, that was a fun half hour, I think I am going to enjoy writing an informative post every night. It might be difficult thinking of a subject but I can always talking about nothing in particular and try to make it sound interesting, or try to invent new languages… Any way I hope that some one will enjoy reading this.
And for not remembering much of what happened during the last month and a half I think I did fairly well. Also if my reference about Henry Tilney does not make sense I recommend reading “Northanger Abbey” by Jane Austin.
Hmm, where shall I begin? My last post was on October 8th and I really don’t know what I have been doing since then since I haven’t been posting… At least my memory isn’t as bad as Dori’s! Which brings me to November 4th when I was one of the millions of people who bought Finding Nemo and I really enjoyed watching it. I keep a close eye on the DVD’s that disney puts out and usually on Tuesday I try to convince some one to take me to Walmart or some where.
Speaking of DVD’s I just bought “The Adventures of Robin Hood” staring Errol Flynn and Olivia deHavilland. I have no idea who is acting now a days but I definitely know some names of great american Actors and Actresses of 50 or so years ago(I just don’t feel like typing them and I don’t know how to spell some of them.) It is a wonderful movie but there was some bad language in the bonus features. But I give the movie five stars. It is wonderful, there is sword fighting, horseback riding, archery, daring escapes, beautiful dresses, romance, castles… bits of humor and a great plot! Of course as Andrew pointed out(he could find fault with ANY movie) it isn’t like most Robin Hood legends but they put in the main parts.
Other important news(if any of this is important which depends on your point of veiw) Is that I have not forgotten how to type quickly which is really nice. But what I meant to say is that I had my computer’s hard drive errased and a new opperating system put in. I think I meantioned that I dropped Eowyn and everything was not working properly. Now it does! Fortunately I backed up nearly everything on my Fire wire hard drive but I didn’t back up my Kung-log password(Kung-log is the blog program I use to post) so I couldn’t post. But no trouble for the great Daniel Von Fange!!! I was able to make a new user so now you will see “Posted by Elizabeth” instead of “Posted by evf”. I think he forgot to capitalize Evf. So now I can post!
Now for recent events all though I just mentioned the most recent event but on Wednesday in the dark, still hours before dawn we took of in “Harvey” the RV(Mom named our motor home that. I don’t know why) to head to Sunny Florida to go to LDI. LDI stands for something to do with Lighting, and all of the people there have something to with lighting, It’s a convention in case I haven’t mentioned the fact. Everybody that is an “Exhibitor” sets up a booth. The bigger the booth the more expensive and more prestigeous the company, or they spend more on advertising and pretending to be big. Most of them have annoying lights flashing, annoying music playing(The booth next to us, but they made up for it by having free popcorn.) or something. But some of the booths were nice boring places. Or nice interesting places that had plasma screens with Finding Nemo on. And there were several booths that had confetti and I picked up some(from the floor, I enjoyed watching them demonstrate their product to customers) and I am going to enjoy it. Our booth was very nice. I know that Henry Tilney considers word “nice” as over used and non descriptive so I shall refer you over to Daniel’s website (braino.org) for pictures and description. His current post doesn’t have any pictures but his next one probably will.
Since that paragraph was sufficiently long I shall switch to another paragraph about LDI. I don’t really like walking and I am think of buying a Sedgeway(I don’t really know how to spell this so I hope I am right), skate board, scooter, or convincing my Mom to let me bring my bicycle. I think Sedgeways are cool(pardon the modern language) but expensive, Skate boards seem dangerous and I doubt I would like one very much but they aren’t expensive, and scooters are a little less fun than a bicycle, take up less room, and are more affordable. But I think I’ll just bring my bicycle to the next convention. Wow! This is all ready a decently long paragraph and I haven’t even gotten to the subject yet!!! Well I am back in posting mode and I guess that explains it. Any I way I did a LOT of walking all over the place in Florida and I didn’t enjoy most of it. I’ll leave it at that I don’t think I’ll talk about the day I burst into tears(a rare occurrence that means I have been eating some sugary or white flourery or that I am REALLY upset.(that was a combination of all three…))while walking. I think I just invented a new word, “Flourery” but I probably didn’t.
Still on the subject Florida, my parents thought it would be nice to rent a house. So they rented a house. It was very nice, we had our own private swimming pool but since we were almost never at the house I only got to go swimming once(but that was a lot of fun!). I had my own room and it had twin beds which was very nice, one bed to throw all of my stuff on and another to sleep on. At home I have to clear my bed off when I want to lay down. We did not go to any amusement parks or dinner things all though I really, really, really wanted to go to Medieval times but since a ticket costs $40.00 dollars and there are six of us… We went to Outbacks, Carabas, and other Restaurants instead. We had Golden Corral for breakfast every morning and that was delicious! If you are ever in Orlando(I think I forgot to mention that that was our destination) make sure you eat there, this is not a paid advertisement. The food was excellent and probably still is.
I have only been back at home for about three hours which hasn’t been very long. I have slightly unpacked but there really isn’t much reason to unpack much since we are leaving for another trip Friday morning early.
I can’t believe I almost forgot a VERY important thing that happened on the way down. We stopped at a gas station(we usually stop at gas stations as do most people) and since stopping at a gas station really isn’t that interesting I didn’t think anything about it until my Dad said that they had swords in the gas stations. SWORDS!!! Oh bliss, Oh Joy, Oh something or other. They even had more than swords. They had helmets(sadly I was not to well off financially since I have been to lazy to work or else…) chain mail, Battle Axes, Daggers, and of course SWORDS!!! I limited my self to not spending more than thirty dollars but… I spent thirty two and got two swords and three daggers. Their prices were amazingly low and the swords and daggers were of good quality for the price. And I needed some new daggers any way… I now have a total of twelve swords and daggers and the all fit conveniently under my bed. Of course I would never use them on any body and they aren’t “Battle Worthy” or sharpened but they are perfect for I want them for. Something to pose with in pictures, show off, and something to hold and swing when I feel like it. Someday I want to learn how to Fence(Why on earth do they call sword fighting Fencing?).
That is all for right now. I will try to start posting every day again. So Farewell and may your eyries receive you at your journeys end.(I don’t mean to call you an eagle or expect you to know the polite thing to say back. Which is “May the wind bear you to where the sun sails and the moon walks” said Gandalf who knew the correct reply.(For those of you who are looking through LOTR don’t say that he never said that because he did, just in “The Hobbit” and if you haven’t read that remarkable peice of literature, you should!))
For those of you who have read thus far, Thank you, I hope that you have enjoyed this post and will enjoy many more on Bethjoy.com.
Algebra and house cleaning I would choose Alge… Actually house cleaning is something I’ll need to know sometime and doesn’t take to long, it’s just I don’t like anything that keeps me from doing what I would like to do. How ever after I finish I will try to write a very long post on what I have been doing. I went to Florida and the whether is very nice down there.
Actually I mean a post, sorry that it has been more since a month that I posted but I am about to make a very long one after I clear the table. My Mom is having me learn “Home Echanomics” or House Keeping
Will this show up?
I like to do a test before I get too jubilant… Hmmm… Will this post appear?
Here you can place some information about the site, maybe use the column for favourite flickr images or something else you find unique enough to give its own space.
