The importance of Research…

I like to sew. Also I like it when I make something and it fits. Also most patterns that I buy are not a perfect fit. Sew(excuse me “So”) I had either the option of a very bothersome and annoying task of trying to edit patterns or buying a custom fit pattern that would probably cost a lot. But a few days ago I discovered option number three! A computer program(Aren’t they wonderful!), you type in your measurements, chose which style of dress, or skirt, or what ever pattern you are working on then hit the print button and suddenly you have a lovely pattern that fits you! BUT the prices… Well after the horrifying experience of seeing that the most basic program that would do somewhat cost about 200 dollars I was rather unhappy. But I thought it would be worth it. BUT…(continued next paragraph(I am referring to the serial stories that would say “Continued next week”))

When it comes to buying something on should always look around a bit first. And I soon discovered another program that would do about the same(if not more) for 150 dollars. BUT it had more features than I really needed… I don’t want to sew pants and I didn’t like or want a lot of the patterns. But I thought that I really should get the big full program. BUT I did some more research, and made this incredible discovery. The additional patterns you can buy for that program will work by themselves… AND they only cost $15 dollars. AND they have one that will do almost everything that I want!!! Also some one else made a program that I like(it has more sleeve variations and other things) and it cost $23.00. So instead of spending $200.00 or $150.00 I will be spending $38.00 and getting more of what I would like than if I was spending the $150.00 or the $200.00. So I am very very happy! Then if I want any more patterns I can always spend $15.00 dollars and get some more! So that I don’t forget I want pattern 1020, I don’t have any where else to write this so I will post it and remember… Also the demos that the different software websites had of their programs were very helpful…

On the more sober side, the whether appears to be chancy on Wednesday and Mom seems to indicate that even if the whether is all right and there isn’t ice on the road we might not go to the Thrift Store(end of whether forecast) I still want to go VERY VERY much and I hope we make it, it has been a while since we were there last. Oh and speaking of shopping I got some very good deals Saturday. We went shopping at Hamricks(clothing store). Mom bought one sweater for $12.00 and I bought a sweater and a pink slick blouse for $9.00. I think I have a good eye for bargains and though I spend a great deal of money I usually get a lot of stuff for my money. And 70% off sales are all ways nice(that is were I found the two shirts, originally they would have cost nearly twenty dollars each.) Also, at the nearby dollar store, I found four very nice bracelets and a ring. All of the items looked as though they could have cost ten dollars at least(I really like CZ, I think I prefer it to diamonds… Not that I wouldn’t care for diamonds if they were given to me but when I am buying I chose Cubic Zirconia.) So I did rather well. But I really am looking forward to going to the thrift store, then I can buy at least five shirts for $8.00…

Since it is currently midnight(actually about five minutes past) I had better stop typing and post this because I need to get to sleep as I have a lot of things to do tomorrow. So the moral of this story is A: Don’t buy the first thing you see, look around a bit. B: See if something a little different but costing a lot less will do the same job. C: Saving money is a very good idea. D: Also buying something if you don’t have the cash on hand to pay for it is a not a good idea. E: Writing posts late at night does not induce sleepiness. And finally F: Early to bed, Early to rise, makes a man Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise.

Also I have been practicing the piano lately, reading Henty books and a Nancy Drew book, and I am recovering from my cold, which is a good thing because I’, running camera this Sunday.
