Merry Christmas of 2004!

I just remembered I haven’t said Merry Christmas yet so I say so now. If you want to read the posts about my trip to Hawaii in order keep looking until you find a post starting with a 1. then read them in numerical order. This saved time and confusion for me. I hope you enjoy reading the extremely informative post about the Menehunes and coming up soon should be a post about the nose of the great Sphinx. So Merry Christmas!

I saw some cute little penguins about an hour ago

We are staying at the Hilton Hotel and they have a small “Zoo” where you can look at a variety of fish, turtles, and penguins. The penguins are very cute looking and they swim around and eat and look at you and just stand there and climb around etc. It was fun seeing them. Soon, probably within the next thirty-six hours I will be home!!!

Apparently while the cats away the rats will play…

So I am currently using my precious internet time to delete the comments on my website which are “spam”, “junk”, “trash”, etc. So after that I will probably do something else. I had about five hundred or so spam posts… Currently I’ve deleted about two hundred. So I just thought I would write a post about it.

19. I am now off the boat

I am currently in the car and the luggage is being loaded in. We have a lot of luggage as Mom purchased quite a bit of additional luggage. I am not particularly feeling well this morning. I think I will probably be sick for a day or two at home. Too much sugar etc… So we are now back in Honolulu. I’m not quite sure what we are going to do today but I hope we can spend some time in the hotel room we will get this afternoon and until then, I hope we do a lot of driving as I’m quite tired and I get to rest when we are driving. The luggage is pretty much loaded, and Mom has just documented it with a photograph. Currently there is discussion as to the next course of action.

I have a different carry-on pair this time, my purse and my small suitcase. I found out that I can actually put my laptop into my purse as I have a small laptop and a large purse. So as I have not much more to say at present being tired and sleepy and everything else which consuming way to much sugar etc can bring about.

18. I got to ride in a Helicopter and a Golf cart

It is now Friday, the last full day of the cruise. This morning we went ashore and my Dad located a helicopter tour. It was great!!! We rode for two hours in the helicopter, with one quick refueling break where we got to ride a golf cart around the air port for a bit while the helicopter had fuel added to it. We got to see waterfalls, lava flowing, trees, and even pigs!!! The volcano was very impressive, we got to see red, or orange, hot lava, and some that was cooled down a bit though still flowing. I actually did take some pictures with my camera although the pictures will be, well, low quality, but I may still post them on here when I get home. I’ll have to see what they look like as my digital camera will not connect to this computer.

Currently I am rather tired and not particularly feeling well. I have a good excuse for it though, Three vanilla ice cream cones… I finally discovered the location of the icecream place on the ship and well… They didn’t have sugar free ice cream and I really enjoy eating ice cream cones and…

So this evening at some point I will need to pack up and be ready to leave the Norwegian Wind early tomorrow morning. Then it will be a very long flight back home and then… I CAN USE THE INTERNET AND CHECK MY EMAILS AGAIN!!! And of course, post:) I hope that the eighteen posts I have written so far will be enjoyable.

17. (dramatic and mournful music plays) It is the last day of the cruise

Though I will wake up one more morning on board today is the last full day i will have on board the ship. It is a rather sad thought.

16. The mystery of the Menehunes explained

As it is high time for an informative post I shall now write one. Now on the island of Kauai which is formed by one massive volcano, there once was a race of people called the Menehunes who were presumably very “short” or “vertically challenged” in todays vocabulary. Now, these people built a highly complex dam which would allow the tide to go in and out, but not the fish. They also built a stone irrigation system. Both of these were built of cut stone and also both are food related. Presumably when the Menehunes disappeared they went into one of the remote valleys of the island where the hand of modern man has never set foot.

Now in order to explain my theory on where the Menehunes went I shall first explain where I think they came from. Now if you will remember the Menehunes are supposedly very short, and also appear to be fond of food. Now who else is fond of food and short? Hobbits of course. Now the west has always had a great attraction to most of those from middle earth as supposedly the undying lands are in that direction. So eventually they sailed west. However some got blown off course and landed in the area now know as Africa and later became known as Pigmies. But the rest made it to America where some stayed later to resurface during World War Two as Gremlins. However as they continued to journey west they eventually found the Pacific Ocean, and I doubt they called it that as Pacific means peaceful. Building more boats they continued sailing west until they came to Hawaii and the island of Kauai where, as they were hungry of course, they built the before mentioned dam and irrigation system. As Hobbits are extremely quiet and quick at hiding it is entirely possible that they are still there, so long as the food doesn’t run out. However some of them eventually departed from Hawaii after which they went to New Zealand which reminded them of Middle Earth. After waiting some time in New Zealand they eventually were able to play themselves in a recent movie that came out filmed in New Zealand.

So hopefully this has been interesting and informative and perhaps someday I shall explain what could have happened to the Sphinx’s nose.

15. It is the afternoon of December 23, 2004

This morning I awakened early to the ring sound of a telephone ringing and was informed after picking up said telephone that it was time to go eat breakfast. After breakfast we got on board a small boat to go to the main land as there was no dock big enough for the cruise ship. As usual we got a rental car and I installed myself into the back seat. After watching the beautiful scenery go by for a while I finally settled down and went to sleep for a while. On awakening it was time to walk around a bit in some of the lovely scenery and then I settled down for another nap and then it was time for lunch where I had a meatball sandwich though not from subway. Then after yet another short nap we went back to the ship where I am currently writing this post. And as you are now up on current events I shall end this post.

14. It is Wednesday evening

We have just returned from a “shore excursion” where we rented a Mini Van and drove around the island. It was quite fun, especially going to Walmart and Hilo Hatti two spots where shopping was done. I got another Hawaiian dress, a telescope type thing that when you look into it you see a picture of the island, two necklaces, and a bracelet. So it was very nice:) Riding in the Mini van was nice too. We saw a waterfall and I got to feed some chickens at a museum. You could pay twenty-five cents and get a bag of feed and then go out and watch the chickens squabble over the stuff you threw. It was most entertaining for a quarter. I highly recommend your doing it should you have an opportunity.

As I got a DVD at Walmart I am looking forward to watch I will not at this time write more.

13. I have rediscovered the realm of Mordor

And I am not referring to my Dad’s shop. I am referring to a certain room on this ship to which I have been going. And in this room are certain devices made for the torment of mankind. Actually there are two rooms, one has in it a device of great shock, it’s called a scale. All though I hope it is off it said I weighed 148 pounds. :( Two days ago it said I weighed 146. The food on cruise ships is good and there is an abundance…

Which brings us to the dreary confines of the other room. A room full of exercising machinery of various jogging, walking, bicycle riding, and stair climbing types. Now my parents, or perhaps it was my brother John, got the “great” idea of going exercising in said room so… I’ve been exercising. One can get very sweaty in a very short period of time. I don’t like getting hot and sweaty. But far be it from me to complain. After all if you take a horrible vacation the rest of your life will seem like a luxury cruise, if you are some one like Calvin’s dad that is. As for me this has been a great vacation so far, with the exception of the exercising. And according to the machines I’m not in very good shape but quite frankly, I’m not Anorexic.
