This the camera
My school is briskly(debatable) getting done. The Unit on Poetry is just about done and at the end they have you writing a poem. So I decided I would write a poem and here it is. Even after studying poetry for a very long time I am still little good at writing it.
The Dragon’s Flight
The Dragon flew, his shinning wings
Beating in the summer light
He dreamed of eating Food galore,
And vanquishing many sharp Things
But his recollections, though pleasant indeed
Shortly to be interrupted would be,
For an Eagle of magnificent size
Was flying towards him at top speed!
Their collision was worthy of Song and of Tale
For mighty and great it was indeed
And the gorse bush that they landed upon
Was flattened as though by many a gale!
Here is the first picture I took, it is of Daniel and it’s blurred.

Here is my bicycle on which many happy hours have been spent.

Here is one of the sentinels of our home.

Here is my room.

Though actually the previous picture is of my dollshouse. This is the room I live in.

My cats refused to pose for the camera.

This winged horse is actually less than an inch tall. My camera does excellent close ups.

And remember, no matter how much you are on top of things…

… something may be on top of you.

There, I hope you’ve enjoyed all of those pictures. More may come… Oh, and I plan on doing an illustrated story soon!
Daniel just bought a new camera yesterday. And guess what he did with his old one… He gave it to me!!! So now I have a still camera!!! THIS IS GOING TO BE SOOOOOO NEAT!!!! Now I will be able to take still pictures easily! I will have tons of settings to adjust! I will be able to easily put pictures on Bethjoy.com! I probably will be putting pictures on Bethjoy.com! But at the moment I am experiencing low battery syndrome… However Andrew is being very nice by letting me charge my battery on his charger. And since Mommy likes Daniel’s Camera so much that she is going to get one of them today maybe I’ll be able to borrow one of her charged batters so I can take PICTURES!!! PICTURES!!! PICTURES MY PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!
In case it is not very obvious, I am extremely happy right now and I really like my new camera, and I also like Daniel and Andrew a lot too. Not that I usually don’t but I like them, and especially Daniel, more than usual right now. Poor John… He’s still hanging on by thread with the Serger he got for me for my birthday last year. I still haven’t gotten to use that yet since it is still in the repair shop. Once I use it he may get spoken of enthusiastically in a post. Plus, there is the fact that Daniel and Andrew give my rides in their cars:) So NEW CAMERA!!!
Whether or not it will continue and whether or not it will accomplish it’s purpose remains to be seen. However I spent about an hour or so cleaning and reorganizing my room and though half of it still looks like a Tornado just went through, plenty of floor is now visible in the other half. I also did some organizing with my cabinets. And I did some school today. So so far it has been a very profitable getalotofthingsdone day. I also got to use a coin sorter machine, and that was fun.
And in case you can’t tell, I’m not exactly in a writing mood right now. So perhaps I’ll just delve into ancient writings and let you read an old fairy tale which I don’t think has made it onto here yet.
In a land by the sea there lived a poor fisherman who was so poor that he had no house but lived in his boat, which was a small one at that and prone to leaks.
In his younger days the fisherman had dreamed of one day earning enough money by fishing to be able to afford a house and a wife but that had not happened.
For the fact that the sea by which he fished had no fish in it did not help his financial situation. But still he faithfully fished, and fished, and though he still did not catch anything he still hoped for the day when he would catch a fish.
And one day, when he was at the old age of thirty four, that day came, he caught a fish. However it was no ordinary fish that one might catch in an ocean or lake, it was an enchanted fish and could speak.
When the fisherman caught him the fish began explaining to him the fact that though now a fish he was really a wealthy prince and would give great rewards when he was disenchanted.
The fisherman listened to the fish’s eloquence for about an hour and then got tired of it and decided to sell the fish and let some one else listen to him.
So he picked the fish up and trotted to the village. But no one there wanted a fish that wouldn’t stop talking so the fisherman decided to go to the capitol and see if any one there wanted the fish.
Off he went to the capitol and fortunately for both him and the fish it was not a long way. He arrived there right in the middle of the wedding preparations for the princesses wedding to a mysterious prince who was supposed to arrive that day.
The fish was still talking and claiming that it was a prince that needed to get disenchanted and finally somebody heard it and they brought the fisherman and the fish to where the princess was.
She didn’t think much of the fisherman but listened eagerly to the fishes sad tale and asked how he could be disenchanted. The fish explained that when a princess kissed him he would instantly become a prince again so the princess kissed him and fish changed into a handsome prince.
The princess immediately fell in love with the disenchanted fish who was now a prince and the poor fisherman was about to be lost in the crowd when he demanded a reward in a very loud voice.
The princess asked him what he wanted and he said that he had always wanted a nice house by the sea shore, a wife, and enough money so that he wouldn’t have to bothered about financial matters for the rest of his life.
So he was given a chest of gold that would buy or build a house and leave enough left over to last him for the rest of his life.
The question of a wife for the fisherman was a little bit more difficult but in the end it was solved by one of the cooks volunteering and the fisherman accepted as soon as he tasted her cooking, which was excellent, so the two of the returned to the sea side where the fisherman built a snug little house for them and they lived very happily there, though the fisherman never caught anymore fish and that suited him just find for he had had enough of them to last him for the rest of his life.
MORAL: Excessive talking, even from fishes, is annoying after a while.
Today was a busy day. In the morning I woke up. Towards the end of the morning we went to visit the Diffy’s as Mrs. Diffy recently had an oporation on her foot and therefore is more ready for the mountain to come to her than going to the mountian herself if that makes any sense. Their dog’s name is Cowboy, and he is a puppy sprouted from our dog, Buckie. We had a fun time watching him play with his toys and so forth.
This evening we had further company. Daniel invited his friend, Laura Beth, over and we had a game night. I won Clue:) We also had pizza and pictonary(I did not do so well in pictonary). It was a full and enjoyable day.
On another note, this week has certainly not been the week for posts on Bethjoy.com. However hopefully next week will be different. I have the excellant excuse that I was sick this week so hopefuly next week I won’t be able to think up another excuse. Also, I’m planning at some point to do very easy and basic costume tuturials on here. I don’t know when that will happen but potentially soon. And of course, eventually there should be another short story. But first, I’ll have to write it…
Wow, I actually figured out the solution to my problem! All I needed to do was unplug the internet cable from the wireless internet hub and plug it into my computer! So now I can check email, post, and use the internet! Wonderful laptops are. And now, to Email!
My visit to the Massatt’s last weekend was very pleasant. After a flight of five hours and a drive of about an hour I arrived at their house around eight their time, or eleven Oclock my time. At that time, of course, it was time to film a movie!!! So for about three or so hours we worked on filming the Massatt Movie. All of the Massatt’s had taken great pains with their lines and worked out humorous characters and character traits. If it hadn’t been that I was playing the part of a very demure and dignified princess I probably would not have fit in:)
Despite the fact that I went to sleep on Massatt time I woke up on my time and then video edited the movie together. It was decided that we would refilm the final scene so we did that Saturday morning. Then it was about time for the Massatts to go to their fencing lessons. I decided to stay at their house and nap:) Though before napping I video edited the final scene in and wrote another script. We ended up not filming that script since one movie was enough for one visit.
Fencing is very physically tiring and the Massatt’s were rather tired when they got back. Sarah and I sat around in her room and talked for a bit, which was fun. She liked listening to my story plots.
Then it was evening, approximately, and it was time for an emergency. I mentioned that I had never seen Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. So guess what we did Saturday evening? We watched Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Now I did enjoy that movie thoroughly, though I wished that some of the costumes were more modest. However, through the delights of the Skip button I have found that those scenes which have inappropriate clothing can be skipped over without any great loss of story. I found this out after I bought Episode 1 and 2 Tuesday night. This Friday we will probably all watch Episode 1. That should be fun!
Sunday it was time to go home and after another long flight we were back, and I was very glad to be back because I was sick. Either it was something I ate or the smog of California but I was sick, as was my Dad. Monday I was ill and sneezing, and then it happened! In setting my computer out of the path of a sneeze I put it on the edge of my bed, thinking it would just stay there. But didn’t it did…
After restarting it and getting error messages and seeing other disturbing signs I found that the thing which gives me internet doesn’t work now…. HOLD IT!!! I just thought of something!!! I’ll act on it later though, but give me internet it might:)
So Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I’ve pretty much just been sick and I haven’t done much. And since I am still ill and tired I think I’ll stop posting right now because I’m tired of typing.
I’m just about to leave to head to the Court of Massatt for a delightful(I hope) visit. I probably will not return or post until Sunday night or more likely, Monday morning. When I do return I may have something interesting to post…
My dear brother Andrew submitted to me using my video camera on him very nicely today. As well as a large amount of ridiculousness I have this small movie which I shall now present to you as a token of what my brothers usually are not.
Here you can place some information about the site, maybe use the column for favourite flickr images or something else you find unique enough to give its own space.
