Daniel’s Birthday Party was held today, surprisingly it was actually his birthday!

AND THE KNITTING IS DONE!!! I am so very happy it was done on time. In case you have no clue as to what I am referring to, I was knitting Daniel a blanket for his birthday. Knitting a blanket for someone of the height of Daniel is no easy task but fortunately Daniel is very thin otherwise I don’t think I could have done it. But I did get it done in time and that should give me a lot more time for using my computer and, hopefully, writing.

We had a love birthday dinner at Bucca de Beppos and had three deserts all of which were large. I brought my camera and took tons of pictures which perhaps I’ll download tomorrow and perhaps upload some to here so that they can be seen.

I haven’t exactly mentioned this before, not necessarily having permission to do so, but Daniel has a girlfriend! Her name is Laura Beth and she is very pretty. So far I have found no reason to dislike her and many reasons to like her. She was there this evening.

It was a very merry gathering and I only knew what one of the presents were(the one I had given) and therefore everyone else didn’t know what they were. Many, many, many pictures were taken between Dad and me for that was where Mom was seated. I took quite a few pictures too.

For a post about Daniel’s birthday this really doesn’t include that much about Daniel. I rode home with him in his car and about halfway home I suddenly realized that I’d been talking about things pertaining to me and how I went shopping today and went to Old Time Pottery with Mom who spent about two hours there and how I’d found this gorgeous yellow brocade fabric there for $2.50 a yard and how I went to the dollar store and found all manner of fun things, and I hadn’t discussed things to do with him since we first got in the car and I asked him how much I could mention Laura Beth on my website. Then I said “And what did you do today?” and that changed the subject and then I think it went from there to a discussion of music (he’s going to a symphony concert with Laura Beth) and then musicals and then a musical I’d seen recently and about then we were home.

I had a fun time today though it was marked by a very strange event. On Mom and I’s shopping trip the last stop was to get Dog food for Buckie. The latch of the back van door is broken so you can’t open it from the outside so one must climb back and open it from the inside. Now our van used to have four seats, not including the two front ones, however the very back seat and the front seat our out of the van so as to have room to put things. When Mom goes to Old Time Pottery she usually gets quite a lot so the front of the van was very full. I didn’t see any convenient places to step from the very front passenger seat on my way to the back of the van so I got the “grand” idea of jumping from the front passenger seat to the back seat. I did so. My first thought was, “Oh wow! I made it!” my next was, “Bother, my leg hurts!”. I had hit very hard on my right leg right below the knee and it still hurts a lot. I just sat for a moment before continuing my perilous journey to the back of the van where I opened the door and then slowly moved back to the seat I’d jumped to and just laid down for a bit(van seats are excellent for doing this, though they are inferior to most regular beds) The dog food was soon loaded and we were then on our way home. Since I usually don’t get hurt very often having a very large ache in my leg is quite an experience and therefore it is worthy of a long paragraph as well as much mention throughout the day.

So I suppose the time has come to post this post before it is no longer Daniel’s Birthday.

Some pictures from my cruise to Bermuda

I had a lot of pictures from the trip, some better than others, so I’m not putting all of them on here, just a very select few because otherwise it would take to long. Perhaps at some other point in time I’ll put some of the other ones on here. To read about the trip just go back a few posts.

My brother Daniel’s birthday is rapidly approaching

And I am knitting him a green blanket for his birthday. I am currently a little over a third of the way done and many hours of knitting I have currently put it. Hopefully I will have finished before his birthday and hopefully I can remember how old he’s going to be then and which day his birthday is on… I know his birthday is in June and that he is older than twenty one just as I know Andrew’s birthday is in February and John’s birthday is in October, or was it November? Actually I do think John’s birthday is in November. My brothers typically don’t have to worry about remembering which day my birthday is on thought, I inform them many times about the importance of September 26th and how old I will become upon that date. They typically don’t hint as hard as I do, in fact they usually don’t mention their birthdays and want they want for them at all which is probably why I’m never quite sure how old they are and when their birthdays are. At least I do know that all three of them are older than me.

So now, back to knitting!!! I have still quite a lot of it ahead of me and while I’m knitting I’m currently listening to a G. A. Henty book. The Hero of the story, Edward Martin, has just made a daring escape after being captured and he’s just about to encounter the man captured him before and I think an awkward situation may have to be dealt with in the usual Henty fashion… I’ve read this book before so I know the important facts, like who the beautiful girl the main character marries is, so this time I’m actually not skipping through the pages of historical information. And in case you have no idea what a Henty book is and what I’m talking about I shall tell you, G. A. Henty was an excellent British writer of historical adventure stories for boys. They are very historically accurate and though written with an obvious preference for the courage and cleverness of the English in comparison with the inept and cowardly French(in comparison) they really are quite enjoyable and not too biased. Well… At anyrate I would recommend them heartily. There is something in them for everybody though in some books G. A. Henty completely wears my patience out when in the last paragraph it mentions “And he married a wealthy heiress and settled down happily” but in others the beautiful girl sometimes makes it into the book before it is even halfway over! So now it is time for further knitting and “By Pike and Dyke”.

I have just received my first allowance!

I even took a picture of the portrait of a dead president which was handed to me just a few minutes ago. And I even think I know how I’m going to spend it!!!

More pictures but still not of the Bermuda Trip

Today I added a hoopskirt to last nights outfit and got Mom to take a picture of me. So here is the picture she took.

And then of course here are the pictures that I took afterwards:)

For some odd reason I’m very “Cinderella Minded” today. Perhaps I ought to write a story or film a movie for the entertainment of those unable to enjoy the stories of my thoughts.

Oh, and so that there is no misunderstandings, I didn’t sew this outfit. Instead I put together articles of clothing to complete the ensemble. The shoes you should know by now are from Bermuda and were purchased for $15.00. The dress is from the Thrift store and cost $9.99. The lacy blouse is the most expensive part of the outfit, with the exception of the hoopskirt, and was purchased from Hamricks for the ridiculously expensive price of $20.00. The hoop skirt is from Mary Joes and I think it cost $35.00 but I don’t remember. It might have been more and it might have been less but all in all, I think I got a good deal on the outfit:)

(PICTURES THIS POST CONTAINS)The latter part of today has been most pleasant

I did a lot of knitting today. I am making a present for Daniel since his birthday is rapidly approaching and I want to show my appreciation for all of the free tech support I’ve been getting as well as other things. And besides, Daniel is in my top three favorite brothers! Of course I only have three brothers but why bother with technicalities?

While knitting I watched several movies that I hadn’t watched in a long time. And that was quite enjoyable:) I still have a lot of knitting left to do but there still are quite a few movies I haven’t watched in a while and would enjoy seeing again. I got a lot of sewing ideas as well as a few story ideas. One I may write up into a short story for Bethjoy.com.

I almost filmed a movie tonight but about when I started thinking about it Mom and Dad came home. Perhaps next week. I think I’d like to film Cinderella(I watched Two versions of Cinderella tonight, one a cartoon and another was a movie made for TV where the camera jiggled several times that I noticed.). I now have the perfect shoes for the part. I suppose I haven’t posted the pictures I took of the beautiful Cinderella shoes that I got in Bermuda. I’ll do that now.

I documented the price tag as you may have noticed:) I figured out the perfect outfit to go with the shoes tonight. It looked absolutely stunning when I got it on with the shoes. I attempted to take a picture but it really didn’t turn out since I was taking my own picture in a mirror with the flash on… But you can get a glimpse of the outfit. I’ll probably document it more fully later but when I was wearing the whole outfit earlier this evening it looked just gorgeous!

DSC06085.jpg

Hopefully in a few years or so I’ll have a Prince Charming to go along with the outfit:) However I have a feeling that by then the amount of stunning gowns I’ll own will be at least doubled. Though some of the dress might be doll sized… Anyway, I had a very enjoyable evening.

Rice Dream Chocolate Dipped in Chocolate Bar

Guess what I ate tonight? If you said Nachos with mild salsa you are correct but if a Rice Dream bar of chocolate ice cream coated in chocolate was your answer then you are also correct. It was good ice cream:) Or perhaps I should say Rice Dream. Today was a busy day and I am now tired. Which means I guess that this post is going to be short. However I DID do some writing today! About a page and a half worth of intense story details and plot on a new story. Whether or not I will continue working on that particular story time will tell… Hopefully soon I’ll have a more humorous and better post to post.

I am back from Bermuda

I had a great time on the trip. I actually got back home late saturday night. I only wrote two posts while I was gone so I’m afraid not everything is going to be covered in detail. I have some pictures that I took and I’ll probably post those soon once I organize them. I got to see some dolphins!

On the way back on Saturday a very important event happened, we stopped at the Dollmarket!!! That particular Dollmarket trip might have been the least among of time we’ve spent inside the dollmarket, only forty-five minutes. Mom bought three dolls, two outfits, and two catalogues. One of the dolls is going to be present for me once I finish up a subject in school.

And speaking of school, I have no started it and already hath a headache come. Another new thing this week is that I’m going to get an Allowance!!! Technically the amount of work I’m going to be doing to earn that allowance is greater than working in the shop to earn the same amount of money would be but I’m not going to complain. I don’t particularly want to work in the shop and I need to learn housework anyway and getting paid something for it instead of having to do it anyway is alright with me.

I now own a pair of shoes with a retail of $95.00

It is Tuesday June 14 2005 and it is in the afternoon in case you want to know. This morning we woke up early, had breakfast, and then set out on the shore excursion. We had a glass bottom boat tour which was very fun! We saw a shipwreck and a lot of coral and fish. The tour guide was very humorous.

After the tour it was time for the important part of the day, shopping!!! There was a department store which was going out of business and had everything on sale. So of course I wanted to go there and go there I did in the company of Mom and Dad. After surveying the selection I ended up getting, you guessed it, a pair of shoes with a retail of $95.00. And how much did these elegant white satin high heels with rhinestone crisscrosses cost me? Nothing because my Dad bought them for me:) However the price paid was only $15.00 instead of $95.00 which really isn’t bad for a pair of shoes:) I have taken pictures of them, and also pictures from the glass bottom boat tour. I’ll probably just do one long picture post when I get home of all the important pictures from my trip. So now I’m back in the room and my feet are still hurting a bit from all of the walking I did. It was big department store and I explored it thoroughly before deciding on the shoes. They are lovely shoes… And it was so nice that they were on clearence because most of the store was only 40% or 50% off and since 50% of $95.00 is $47.50 I think they must have been at least 80% off. I like finding bargains:)

It will be time for me to go to dinner soon so I will probably end this post now.

It is Monday June 13 2005 and I am currently on the Horizon

And this is my first post for this trip. SUnday morning around six we, Dad, Mom, Daniel, Andrew, and I, got into the van to head to Norfolk Virginia where we would board the cruise ship. The trip up was enjoyable, though I was tired from not sleeping very much the previous night. We ate breakfast at McDonalds and lunch at Subway and with one stop for gas those were our only pauses on the trip. Daniel conducted a fun game where Andrew and I each got to be characters. We were each given six points and told to chose skills to go with them, one point being worth an excellent amount of skill in that particular job. I chose to have three points in movie acting, one point in finances, and two points in swashbuckling:) My name was Miss Lenora Lovelace. Andrew was a big game hunter, cryptologist, and race care driver. We were solving a mystery but we arrived at the cruise ship before completing it. Andrew is certain it was the French accountant who did it but I’m not so sure. The mystery may be solved later…

There were many and long lines which had to be gone through in order to get onto the cruise ship but at last they were over. I am sharing a room with Erika, and so far that has been very nice. We were originally in an inside stateroom but as it was very near some other cousins of mine and as there parents preferred to be nearer to their children we are now on the other side of the ship in a stateroom with a window, which is very nice!

This morning I woke up and discovered that my watch had the wrong time on it. I had know that there was to be a time changed so I set my watch two hours ahead instead of one hour. Which meant that instead of being ten minutes to ten it was ten minutes to nine. Erika and I got up and ate breakfast and then we made our way back to the room where Erika, who was tired, eventually went to sleep. I began a long and laborious quest to find my parents after I found that calling their stateroom gave no answer.

After walking over most of the ship twice and asking all of my relations that I saw if they had seen my parents I finally recieved a clue from my grandmother that she had just left them at a lecture on deck seven. Rushing down to deck seven I found that the lecture was over and that Bingo had replaced it. Knowing that my parents would not be remaining for Bingo I went to their stateroom to see if they had returned there. They hadn’t. I made an educated guess then and I found that I was right! I found them in the shopping area… I was very thankful, I’d been praying hard that I would be able to find them.

After seeing them and having a second breakfast with them it was time to return to the room. I was planning on doing an arts and crafts thing at one so I had a brief nap and then went to that. Erika woke up in time to go with me to the arts and crafts. We went and the progect was gluing shells onto a cardboard frame. It was fun. I made a very simple symectriccal design and Erika made a much more shelly design which is very pretty. I suppose I ought to take a picture of them but I may or may not post it.

My parents met me up there and we had lunch together. After lunch I had a nap and Erika had another one too after a while. Then we got up and dressed for formal night. I had made princess outfits for my cousins so it was princess night! I wore my red velvet medieval. I lent Erika an evening dress I had made for me, and it fit her very well and looked great! I think I’ve put a picture of it on here before, the dress was red and yellow.

My younger cousins had a fun time in their dresses that I had made for them. I felt a bit nervous during dinner though, my mother had told me that she thought it likely they would spill something on their dresses, but they didn’t(at least, not that I saw…). Then, after dinner, we went and had our picture made at the formal portrait place. I’m looking forward to seeing that!!!

Then it was time to return to our stateroom. Last night Erika and I watched most of “The Incredibles” and tonight we watched “One night in the tropics” staring Abbot and Costello. Then I wrote a post which I am still writing! So now that I have mentioned a lot of what I have been doing lately I shall probably end this post and help Erika look for that which she is currently searching for…
