Prom 2006 didn’t quite go as planned

But I had fun:) And that was the important part. To start things off I got dressed in a more comfortable outfit than the one I had previously chosen. I started the festivities with making a short movie that will be at the end of this post. Then I played with a new game I’d purchased. It’s a Lord of the Rings game and the cool thing of it is that you actually get to hold a sword and swing it around while the foes of the free peoples of Middle Earth fall. It’s very aerobic so I decided to change clothing into something more comfortable. Then I thought I would edit the movie and while all of that sounds like a very short evening Mom and Dad came home after I edited the movie then we sat on the couch and watched two episodes of the Andy Griffeth show. And that, pretty much, was the way the evening went. I couldn’t find Star Wars. However I looked very nice, I think.

Anyway… Watch this movie please:)

The Plans for the Evening are being put into execution

Well, there is a picture of the Queen of the Prom. I sure felt it when I put on the outfit. The shoes I’m wearing are from Bermuda where they had a retail price of $95.00 which makes them very special. Of course I got them for much less. The wedding dress(though today it’s a prom/formal) was from the thrift store. The tiara was a present from my Uncle David and the necklace and earrings were also a present. The bracelet I bought at Walmart. The whole ensemble… Priceless. Only thing though due to the long train and the very fancy bow at the back(not quite seen in the pictures) sitting down in that outfit might not be such a good idea, not to mention eating, swordplay and some of the other things I’m planning on doing tonight. SO I may ultimately end up wearing something a little more comfortable and something I wouldn’t feel so bad about if something happened to it. I certainly do like the outfit, I’d almost get married in it. However I think that before the wedding dress should come the groom and considering how I change my mind about what i want to wear I may not decide which of my wedding dresses I’ll wear until the day before or the day of the wedding. However, first comes the prom! I’ll certainly be wearing my tiara whatever else I wear.

Tonight will soon be here and strange news doubtless will it bring… Afterall, here’s the current guest list for the prom:)

White Oak Acadamy Senior High Prom 2006

The Guest List Of DOOM!!!

Chaperones for the evening will be Rozzle and Alison Sheddin

Students: Miss Elizabeth Von Fange, and Miss Polly Von Fange(part time student and insister on being present).

Imaginary Guests: The Crown(and non-crown) Princes of Fange, Taldan, Laroth, Myslaros, Strylar, Alzendron, Madel, Aralthan, Fardran, Rildon, and Kralth all of whom are single, very handsome and highly suitable for this sort of gathering.

(Now following in Alabetical order) Bilbo Baggins(The Hobbit), Commodore Norrington(Pirates of the Carribean), Eomir(Lord of the Rings), Frodo Baggins (Lord of the Rings), Gimli, Gloin’s son(Lord of the Rings), Gomer Pyle(Andy Griffeth Show), James P. Sullivan(Monsters Incorporated), King Tirian(Chronicals of Narnia), Legolas Prince of Mirkwood(Lord of the Rings), Little John(Robin Hood), Luke Skywalker(Star Wars), Merriadoc Brandybuck(Lord of the Rings), Mr. Charisford(Little Princess), Perigrin Took(Lord of the Rings), Peter Pevensie (Chronicles of Narnia), Prince Charming(Does he need an introduction?), Sir Marcus(Script EVF wrote), The Great Gonzo(the Muppets), Theodred son of King Theoden(Lord of the Rings), Wedge Antilles(Star Wars, a pilot who survived to the end), and about ten or more of those G. A. Henty main characters who ended up without romance at the end of their books.

And this list would have been longer only I was just included characters who did not end up seriously romantically connected with anybody. Now just imagine all of them in the same room.

I’m having fun:)

May 3, 2006

This Thursday night may be very different

I’m planning on attending the Senior Prom at White Oak Academy tomorrow night. It’s a fairly exclusive affair, only about forty guests in total. The impressive guest list includes no less than sixteen members of royal families, and all of them handsome, single, princes with a few kings thrown in for good measure. Which could be fun:) The interesting thing will be that they are all imaginary… Which may make dancing a bit challenging but since I don’t really know how to dance anyway that doesn’t exactly matter. The point is, I’m going to be the Queen of the Prom! You see White Oak Academy is the name my mother once chose for the school in which she homeschools us. In the over ten years of existence of this school there has not been a single prom. So this will be the first, and probably the last, prom in the history of the school so it’s only fitting that so many dignified and important royal persons should show up, amongst them Prince Charming. I’m the planning committee for the prom being that I’m currently the only student attending White Oak Academy and I’m about to graduate from the twelfth grade.

I suppose I’m actually being absurdly silly but looking at all of the prom dresses that I’ve been looking at lately has made me want to go to a prom only knowing how I dislike loud music and crowded rooms I probably would very much dislike a prom if I went to one that I didn’t plan so I’m planning one I’ll probably enjoy. As was suggested by a Miss Bingly from Pride and Prejudice I may have conversation instead of dancing be the order of the evening but as it is hard to converse with persons who aren’t there I may just watch some movies instead after some of the other festivities planned for the evening including the crowning of the Queen of the Prom, some swordplay, perhaps a pie eating contest, maybe a craft, and some walking up and down the room. Which sounds like an interesting evening…

I think I’ve decided what I’m going to wear. I ddi spend quite a bit of time on this important decision. I was thinking about wearing something I made, specifically the elegant grey satiny turn of the century ball gown I made or perhaps make a new dress. However I felt a bit too tired for the making of a new dress so i looked at my ready made dresses and while there were many gorgeous options in my prom formal wear collections none of them seemed to be quite as right as a certain dress which fits me very attractively. In older days girls used to wear white dresses to commencement and though that may have nothing to do with proms I think I may wear white. Specifically one of my white wedding dresses, without a veil of course. It’s very pretty with a very full skirt and train and it’s also one of my more expensive dresses($25.00). I may change my mind of course. I may not even have the prom. But I just may. It’s kind of fun planning it anyway.

Oh, I just finished doing something! Yesterday around noon Mom and Dad bought Season One, Two, and Three of the Andy Griffith show (thirty-one or thirty-two episodes each) and I just finished previewing them all a few hours ago! Isn’t that impressive? I’ve been watching them almost solid all day today and until relatively late last night and using the fast forward button frequently since there was over forty hours of Mayberry to go through. It was an interesting experience.

Well, if you would like to read the guest list of the imaginary characters I’ll probably post it when I mention the prom in a post. It’s an interesting list. I didn’t want to include any heroes who actually ended up marrying or becoming engaged to the heroines which massively cut the guest list down. After all, no Mr. Darcy, no Han Solo, no Aragorn, no Roy Rogers, no Prince Charming(actually I kept him in, only he’s a different Prince Charming from the one Cinderella got.) no Clark Kent, and a whole lot of others that I can’t think of now and probably wouldn’t mention anyway. I think of those I’ll miss Han Solo and Aragorn the most but I’m making up for them with Luke Skywalker and Peter Pevensie and quite a few others I may mention later. Something tells me my guest list would probably surprise most persons.

The hero who said my favorite line in either book or movie is none other than Mr. Darcy who during the course of the book of Pride and Prejudice turned to his newly acquired fiance and said “Dearest, Loveliest Elizabeth.” It was actually at the end of a sentence but why bother with technicalities? Someday I hope someone will say that to me, and mean it. Anyway, it’s about time for me to get my beauty sleep:) I wonder what my Mother would think of this post? I also wonder what my mother would think of the guest list… I’ll probably be finding out the latter tomorrow morning at breakfast. I’m not sure whether The Great Gonzo is the weirdest guest on the list or not… Anyway, Good Night!
