On the bright side, I\’ve lost about four pounds…
I used to weigh as a normal weight around 150 pounds. Apparently I was at that weight for quite a while because it still sticks in my brain as \”my\” weight. Then a variety of circumstances happened which lowered my weight to being between 140 pounds and 145. Then last Sunday hit… I was scheduled to run camera. The Sunday before that I had run camera and about half way through the service my stomach area started to get upset. The last part of that service was pretty miserable for me but I got through it and all was well and I was soon home and in bed and in a day or so pretty much normal. But May Sixth it was a whole different story… I started feeling sicker than I\’d felt the last Sunday before the service started. With the memories of last Sunday strong in me I finally mentioned I was sick. Very wonderfully there was someone else to run camera for me. I spent nearly all of the duration of the service lying on the floor of the control room feeling very sick. I was very glad to be home again and once again crawled into bed looking forward to feeling better soon.
Monday came. I woke up thinking I was fine and normal but was I in for a surprise… I had breakfast and my stomach started feeling upset. I went back to bed but around lunch time I really started feeling sick and after attempting to eat a small bowl of strawberries… I threw up. It was official, I was sick.
I threw up again on Wednesday. In fact I did it twice. So pretty much for a whole week I\’ve been very sick. Apparently right after vomiting one is not supposed to eat immediately, a thing I didn\’t know until after the occurrences of Wednesday. So I took care to eat very little and when I did very mushy easy to digest foods and not eat if I felt quite nauseated. Being that I felt nauseated a whole lot I wasn\’t eating a whole lot and my hypoglycemia started to come into play…
It\’s been an interesting week. I\’ve watched a LOT of videos in my every challenging quest to divert my mind from my stomach region so I wouldn\’t feel sick. I\’ve pulled out a lot of toys and games I hadn\’t played with in a while and I\’ve enjoyed playing with them again. I also got a new game:) Mom and Dad took me out for medical aid and advice and as the place was near Walmart… I got Designers World, a very fun game(if you like designing high fashion clothes) that plugs into my video monitor and has a remote control. I\’ve really been using my video monitor. I didn\’t want to use my computer because it takes me a minute or two to put it down and in case of needing to leave my room suddenly enroute to the bathroom I didn\’t want to worry about making sure my laptop was securely set down. Besides, it was taking too much energy to use it anyway. Watching a video on my monitor was about my energy level for most of this week. Pressing a few buttons on a remote to play a fairly easy game was also not too challenging for me but getting up, going downstairs, and attempting to sit up for meals was pushing things.
I\’ve also been playing with my Game Boy Advance again. I\’d bought a game for it around the end of my GameBoy Advance craze that I hadn\’t played much. It was about a purple dragon named Spyro and I was pathetic at it so I didn\’t think it was fun when I first got it. But when you have hours of time in which you are trying to ignore the fact that you are in pain a challenge game is actually quite handy. I still don\’t like falling off all of the cliffs in the game but other than jumping I\’m beginning to get the hang of the game and actually enjoy it, even if I am still pretty lousy at it.
I\’ve begun to notice a pattern in my illness. When I first wake up my stomach is pretty upset and eating at that time is most unwise. Around eleven o\’clock though I can eat a little and I generally feel better around noon. I continue rising in feeling better for a while and yesterday I felt almost normal for almost an hour. Then I go downhill again, usually about seven or so, and by ten I\’m feeling pretty sick again. But I can look forward to the next day around noon when I start feeling better again…
And I weighed myself recently and I was 136.4 pounds. Before I got sick I was around 140 something so I\’ve lost some weight this week, but it\’s not really a diet I\’d recommend. And in parting, always check the expiration date on cottage cheese before you eat it.
Oh incidentally, I\’m still sick. But I think I\’m getting better. I\’ve actually spent some time today walking about the house and sitting up. I\’ve been doing a lot of thinking though about changes and improvements I ought to be making when I get well enough to do them. More on that later perhaps.
